Algeiri has decent fundamentals. Good jab, picks his shots nicely, good movement, slips punches well, etc. Very well schooled. But he looks too mechanical. Let's see how disciplined he is when Ruslan tracks him down and makes him fight. Algieri seems to be a good boxer but I believe all of that will fall apart when Ruslan tracks him down and starts putting that leather on him.

Ruslan by late TKO while behind on points.
****. I should of just pulled the trigger and picked Algeiri outright. lol. I was worried about his level of opposition.

I thought Ruslan's round 1 would happen in the later rounds and result in a stoppage.

But I didn't see Ruslan beating Algeiri on points.

I thought Ruslan would destroy him but I guess that Argentine blood kicked in. Good for him, seem like a good, smart guy.

Well, since everyone is bumping their quotes. Lol

He won Herrera style and the jab was key.

Just rewatched it. Ruslan might have the worst punch selection. All he was throwing last night were a lefthooks and right crosses. I dont think he threw one uppercut.

And No doubling up punches. When he throws a hook you know he'll follow up with a right cross.

id never watched algieri fight but heard he had never gone 12 rounds and didnt have power so thought ruslan would get the ko but i watched it live and thought algieri won. he landed a lot more punches and despite having one eye didnt get hit with too many. ruslan was just following him around all night and wasnt really effective past the first round.

Well deserved for Algieri, he makes things a little more interesting around the weight class.

Was anyone else disgusted with HBO (mainly Lampley) at the end of the fight?

Yeah,, the HBO crew was trying so hard to sway opinion towards ruslan. Ward was the only guy really being honest... Lampley was just all over ruslan's sack..

I had it 114-112 for ruslan, but i can totally accept algieri won the fight, he boxed beautifully in there and ruslan had nothing after 5 or 6 rounds...
But he hitting the harder shots according to lampley, even if it was few and far between after 5 rounds
