Past it, huh? Or maybe......its just easy to look amazing against the likes of the macklins of the world. Crazy thought, but maybe cotto was just the better fighter, and martinez would never look good against the better fighter.

No I agree with hitking, Roach is a really good trainer and should never be discounted but he does take a lot of credit, especially for fighters that already came to him as veteran fighters. TBH I don't know of one Roach fighter that he has trained since day one, all the fighters I can think of come to him with fights already underneath their belt. Against Martinez I think any version we've seen of Miguel Cotto under any trainer he's had would have beaten Martinez, not just Freddy Roach's version.

        3. Martinez was put in impossible situation. Max tried to.get him to talk about knee: if he did he would be seem as using excuses. If hebdid not, it seems as not a factor

        4. Knee can be fine without being back to prime

        5. Just look at his movement since the Murray fight. His legs are gone. It happens. Shot fighters are a real thing
Since when has Martinez shyed away from explaining his injuries, or why he performed poorly? No, he flat out said he couldn't recover from the shot.

To break that down for you, his knees weren't giving him the problems. The problem was that he was having trouble getting off of ***** street.

Give cotto his due props. Whatever Martinez' condition, he was the lineal champ who hadn't been beaten this decade. Props to the first guy who beat him.

            **** happens with bad gameplans.

What's funny, is you're gonna have to live with the fact; cotto put Martinez on ***** street right off the bat, and wouldn't let him leave.

Yes he did, he put a man down on shot knees, big confidence booster. But then again its not his fault.

Happy to give Cotto his 'props' but it is hard to not look 'butthurt' when speaking the truth about Martinez. I and pretty much any other pro fighter (look at their tweets)think he was a shot fighter. But to put the Cotto 'props' in perspective it is hard to say that he has done anything special in his last 5 fights but he has looked good in his last two and for this his stock has gone up in my mind to a point I will be very excited to see him fight canelo. If he does well in THAT fight then I will happily give full 'props'. Until then I have a su****ion this is a great sales job. But I freely admit that I might be wrong and Cotto is the superstar he's being promoted as. Just I want to see him prove it against Canelo.

Cotto did great, and surprised me alot. Props to him for a solid performance.

Either Cotto is that good, or Martinez is that bad.

So let's find out which: Cotto/GGG next up.

                      I don't wanna see Cotto/Bradley, Cotto/anyone but GGG.
                      Make it happen!
