So let me get this straight, Martinez and his entire corner, even his promoter and manager say Martinez never recovered from the first left hook. The Doctors confirmed there was nothing wrong with Martinez' knees or hand. So lets all admit together Martinez got a legit a.s.s. kicking.

He looked the way he did because he more then likely had a concussion and his equilibrium was affected from the first left hook that landed on the temple, then another punch that landed on the back of the head which sent Martinez to his first knock down. Also if you watch the fight again you will see that Cotto landed a big right hook square on Martinez' chin in the middle of the ring, before Cotto landed that big left. Martinez looked even worst because a lack of sparring during training camp did not allow him to get his timing down. Mayweather admitted that Cotto was difficult to time, and Mayweather is a defensive genius.

All im saying is its time to give the man his credit. Legit beat down and legit Champ

His trainer in his corner was yelling at him the entire time saying "your knees are shot". Martinez is all heart and not gonna uses excuses as a cop out. Anybody with 2 eyes can see his legs were gone, he didn't look nowhere near as sharp as he did when he was healthy.

Martinez was taken to Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan following the fight and missed the post-fight press conference. An MRI revealed that Martinez suffered a broken nose, but his right knee and left hand, which had been damaged in his last fight in April of 2013, were fine, Lewkowicz said. DiBella said an additional CT Scan revealed "no abnormalities." Martinez was discharged at 5 a.m. on Sunday and traveled back home to Spain later in the day, Lewkowicz said.
"He got caught with an early shot in the first minute of the fight and then he fought eight rounds and a half only by heart," Lewkowicz said on Sunday. "So how can [YOU]say that he's old? Everybody wants to be a coach. But the reality is that probably a young man wouldn't have gotten up after the first punch and it would be a KO after the first round."

Cotto is just the better fighter when hes disciplined and motivated nobody can beat him and roach is a good trainer for him I want to see cotto v.s bradley next

He looked great last night, I'd like him to rematch Floyd personally. I think if that Cotto shows up, he can take Floyd out.

1. Promoter can't admit it to save face. Not. Good look to squeeze your aging vet

2. Corner did admit it

3. Martinez was put in impossible situation. Max tried to.get him to talk about knee: if he did he would be seem as using excuses. If hebdid not, it seems as not a factor

4. Knee can be fine without being back to prime

5. Just look at his movement since the Murray fight. His legs are gone. It happens. Shot fighters are a real thing

Nope, and I don't think any fighter that goes through a training camp is 100 percent, and I also don't think it would have mattered. Cotto was just too good, the better fighter.
