Cotto needs to establish himself as the middleweight champion. If Cotto fans are so adamant on saying Sergio was 100% ok then he needs to take the big fights like GGG, unless of course he fights Canelo. Srcub/Crippled/Long Layoff is a pattern I dont want to see is. He wont the MW belt now freaking defend it. To take the belt because he wants his 4th title in 4 divisions and not defend it like Sergio was doing is a little prima donna-ish.

Martinez took the fight knowing his knee wasnt ready for a payday bottom line. He lied during the build up to sell tickets. The fight was a farce.Nobody is blaming Cotto or hating cotto but some of us like to keep it real.

The win was against a cripple, hes not a top middleweight and hes not a top p4p fighter because of it.

Maybe you should get off homerism and think logically about Cottos situation right now. Whats the point of winning a belt if your not going to defend it? Holding the belt hostage or just using it to make history is a ***** move unless of course the latter happens If he's fighting Canelo or Mayweather at 54 then by all means, those are obvious big money/legacy fights, but if he stays at middleweight as he should he is the champion no? He has to fight the best at middleweight and that is GGG. Cotto beat a crippled fighter, get him off your pedastal.
