I think he's a hype job, but if he keeps on winning especially against recognized fighters, then he's destined to become PPV material. He's a big welterweight and Canelo vs Thurman would be huge.

Numero Uno Keith Thurman fan here. Don't wanna jump the gun on his hype but he's clearly the most gifted out of the bunch we've been fed before. You have to make yourself out of something when Maidana, Guerrero and some others have ducked you.

I dont see Mayweather or Pacquiao greatness.....but I see a real good fighter who's exciting. I think his ceiling would be Cotto level in terms of stature and "greatness".

Can't really evaluate him and give an honest prediction because he truly has yet to fight anyone above a C-, D level. Im not sold yet.

When he steps up Ill know more. Hes still a prospect in my eyes and nothing more at the moment.

Like most have said. Soon to be seen how "great" he'll become, but so far he's clearly the most talented WW prospect in my eyes.

I like Porter as well, but his styles gonna get him flash KOd or hurt against an expert counter puncher. Someone in the vein of JMM would hurt him I think. Same goes for Keith Thurman. I think he'd hurt Porter, badly.

Exactly how I feel about Porter, until he shows me how well he can pick his spots against a good puncher who counters well, I'm not trying to hear squat.

Porter coming forward with lunging hooks, and Thurman's ability to throw full on power shots while backing up is a recipe for disaster for Porter.

And I agree with your post. Most people don't realize when he gets tagged, he tries to lull you into throwing more, so he can catch you with a KO counter blow.

Theres definitely talent with him. He also seems to be gradually stepping up. Hes still only fighting C class comp but each new opponent is better than the last. I dont see him pulling a gary russel jr. If I had to guess he will end up B+ class.

I think Thurman has real potential. I would like to see him step up against better competition. I don't think he's ready for the likes of Mayweather or Pacquiao but would love to see him against someone like Matthysse or even Danny Garcia.
