Cotto fades as the fight goes, but Martinez just fights even harder, even if his body doesn't agree with his heart.

Cotto very, very obviously has had a better career than Sergio Martinez, and beaten the better fighters.

Martinez beat a prime, unstoppable Paul Williams twice. Something Cotto could have never done.
He also dominated a roided out cruiserweight in Chavez, something Cotto could NEVER do.
Martinez beat martin murray with a ****ed up knee, injured shoulder and broken hand. There is no quit in him, he is a warrior blood in blood out.Last edited by DARKSEID; 06-07-2014, 04:47 PM.

Prime, unstoppable Paul Williams lost to Carlos Quintana what, a year or year and a half before the first Sergio fight? How is he unstoppable again? He also looked awful against Cintron before the Sergio rematch.
And Cotto 100% did not get his ass handed to him by Mayweather. He lost, but he was competitive throughout and gave Mayweather his toughest fight in years.

Hope you didn't put money on Cotto lol
edit: And Cotto got his ass handed to him by Mayweather. At BEST he didn't win more than 3 rounds, I don't know what fight you were watching.

I don't think Cotto can win unless Martinez is done. That has so much more to do with size than anything else IMO. When fighters of equal ability fight, but one is a middleweight and the other is blown up welterweight, it's hard to imagine the blown up welterweight not getting destroyed. Cotto shouldn't be able to handle what a relatively healthy Sergio brings to the table.

Cotto wasn't landing ****, and Mayweather was destroying him with right hands.
The Cotto fight was a textbook Mayweather fight where the other fighter couldn't break through his defense. Nobody has except Maidana and Castillo.
