So Top Rank doesn't want him because HBO won't put him on their air?

Why do you think HBO won't put him on the air? Cause nobody wants to watch a 119 pound defensive fighter.

If you're angry blame it on me, I'm representative of the typical boxing viewer who has no interest in watching guys that tiny fight unless it's a guaranteed bloody war because they're basically a sideshow. At least I'm honest.

Size has a LOT to do with it. HBO has rarely been gaga over fighters below a certain limit UNLESS they are thrillers. If Rigo were a Welterweight, he would be on the air regardless of style. I'm far more pissed that neither premium network is investing in Flyweight. Another hellacious brawl Friday with Reveco and Alvarado. That division deserves investment. Not like Rigo won't be on TV somewhere.

Why would a fighter want to resign with a promoter who treated him like sh.t and basically called him sh.t in public comments?

Even Al Haymon can't save Rigo.

This has been talked before over and over. Rigo is an exceptional boxer, but, sadly everyone needs to earn a living, and, if he cannot sell and the network doesn't want him, then, what can a promoter do? Maybe a change of promoter will also translate a change of luck for rigo. Or maybe change his style to be a little more offensive which is the most obvious solution right here. I think with his great talent, he certainly has the capacity to be more offensive than what he usually does in the ring. Just need to get more risk to get more rewards in real life, perhaps, that would be the case for rigo to change his luck as a pugilist.

Good post and i too love the Flyweight division.. you brought up a good point on HBO not displaying the lower weight talent unless they are thrillers… but Zou Shimming is an exception somehow. 4 - 0 with 1 K.O. and going for a title soon.. thanks HBO, for bringing us such an exciting fighter to the air(sarcasm).

Rigo needs to look at the smaller promoters like DiBella Entertainment, Gary Shaw Productions, Goossen Promotions, Warriors Boxing or Star Boxing for his next contract. Become one of the top guys in their stable, if HBO doesn't want to show his fights I'm sure Showtime & ESPN have no problem showing his fights. Rigo has an audience and is a great co-feature fighter that can become the total A-side if promoted properly.

HBO isn't really investing with Zou. Those are slots they give for Arum produced shows. Note: they don't have their announcers. It's the Top Rank international feed.
