I could care less of personalty to a certain degree or a fighters race or support for a fighter of your home country.

I like fighters that to me are aesthetically pleasing, i also like many styles not just one particular. I like puncher/boxers of all styles from flashy to a stalking approach like Triple g, Pacman, Maidana, Kovalev, Matthysse, Thurman, Nonito, Canelo, Marquez.

For pure boxers i like fluid fighters, The way Floyd fights with the jab to the body his left hooks, lead right hands, how he dictates the pace, gives you different looks, his defense, everything about his style i like. Rigo is another one i like. Hopkins, Ward, can't stand there styles.

I don't really have a driving force. I like certain fighters because of their fighting skills and because of what kind of person they are outside of the ring. If they are a champion I want them to be a good champion and fight the best challengers. If some person or people trash a fighter I like unfairly I will come to that fighter's defense but I don't really think my support will make any difference or change any minds. I guess I just support them on here because I can.

For me it's mostly all about fighting style. Defensive fighters, counter punchers. That is what I look for. However if a fighter has power I can appreciate that too.

I dunno if I'd say nationality is a big factor for me at all, but when I hear a guy is from Cuba I instantly feel like I can appreciate them more. Also, if a fighter is Canadian or moved here and now represents Canada then I want to support my countryman. Other than that though they can be from anywhere, as long as they are my kind of fighter.

Race really isn't much of a factor for me. Carl Froch for example, I hate to watch him fight because of how he fights. I'm white, but it doesn't mean I enjoy watching simply because I have the same skin colour. Again it comes down to how the guy fights. Pretty much all of my favourite Boxers are Black, well Ward is half and half. But anyway.

Fighting style. All that should matter. I couldn't care less where a fighter is from or what his personality is. Hate fighters like Rios. "I'll take 2 to land 1" has to be the dumbest **** I've ever heard.

Other than shared nationality, no idea. It's almost completely random. Some fighters I like, others not so much, and I can't put it down to race, personality, fighting style, level of opp etc.

There are traits I like in one fighter (e.g. Provo's humbleness) that irritate the heck out of me in another (e.g. Manny's humbleness). And I might like the complete opposite of said trait in a fighter, too (e.g. I like Broner for being an unapologetic ******).

Sometimes I get annoyed when a fighter is overhyped (Matthysse), sometimes I jump on the bandwagon (GGG).

I might call fighters "boring", but if I like a fighter, I just want him to win, no matter how. (E.g. I was happy with Khan's win over Collazo, even though it wasn't entertaining.)

Skills, heart, and appealing. I like defensive, aggressive, swarmers, technically immaculate, etc.. I don't really care under what stable the fighters are in, as long as they can box and are willing to put on class A fights in the ring. I also don't pay much attention to their outside the ring lifestyle or what not. Meaning i can like a fighter but not the person, however i will never bash him or his craft(unless I'm joking )Haymon fighters, GBP, Top Rank, Espinoza, ALA, etc… I just love the sport too much to dislike orr like a fighter over situations that don't affect nor benefit me directly.

It's interesting because this question can help to explain how passionately illogical so many of us can be. Are you a fan of a fighter because of the objective nature of his fighting style, and in-ring resume, or is it something else; nationality, personality, etc.

It makes sense that guys here use emotion over logic in their arguments and analyzing fights if the reason they like a boxer comes from a place of emotion rather than simple appreciation for their boxing style.
