  • What Is Your Driving Factor Behind Supporting a Fighter?

I ask cause I have been browsing the forum reading and what not, and this question came to mind, because it seems alot of so called fans are worried about what a fighter/manager/advisor makes lol, which is ridiculous to me, but anyways here we go...

My driving force to this sport is the fighting spirit that is in abundance, for instance Erik Morales announced his retirement and although we all knew he was done for, but he such a great fighter and we mean great but still in the back of our head (giving his situation) we were like he can probably pull another one off if he really wanted to LOL, I mean garcia and maidana didnt beat him clear? lol

My question is to yall is why do you guys invest in the fighters that you do?

Is it because he the same race? same country? Or he falls in line with who you like?

just like any sport where you primary root for your home team, i.e. country, race, town or city....

after that you have second teams that you root for the way they play/fight...

your sample Erik Morales is one of my second team, in the back of my mind, I want to see him against Marquez and do great...

Fighting Style < I like counterpunchers and outfighters

Are you American? < no explanation needed

****iness, arrogance, and a huge ego < these increase their chances of being the best of their era

Quite frankly, I don't cvare about nationalities...

I try to look after the skills and the personality. But sometimes, some very skilled fighters have such a bad personality that I can't like them.

I like humble, hardworking fighters that come to fight, warriors who dont mind about taking a punch to deliver one. I dont like guys like khan or broner, if you must talk then you need to back it up like Ali.

I like power punchers but a warrior mentality, honor and a no nonsense attitude is more important. My favourite fighters are Marquez, Maidana, Golovkin, Matthysse, Arreola, Froch, Ali. I also like Jones jr, for his speed and entertaining ability. He is also a warrior which he didnt need to show in his prime but is showing now.

I like technical ability but it shouldnt be used to avoid a fight, compare marquez and rigondeaux, you see what i mean.

That's considered evil in the US though where mass media pumps out the idea that anyone who likes themselves is equivalent to a pedophile

Style and competition. Most of all I need to like watching a fighter, and if they aren't b*tches about who they fight it seals it.

Main things that make me support a fighter -
                    • Personality (funny, nice person)
                    • Fighting style (entertaining)
                    • Nationality to some degree (not always)

Honestly not a lot I like a lot of different fighters
                    Anthony Dirrel
                    W.Klitschko
                    M.Pacquiao
                    Gennady
                    A.Khan
                    C.Alvarez
                    E.Lara

It just depends on how they act for saying sake I've not been too fond of Lara for being a bit of a douchebag trying to be this 'bad boy' type to get a fight with Canelo when he never needed to do that at all.
