Froch shouldn't openly duck fighters like that.

as for froch making a ton of money in vegas fighting chavez, i have a hard time believing that he'll make much more than he made against groves in the rematch.

chavez career high payday was a ppv against martinez. it sold decently well. chavez got a three million dollar guarantee.

ward himself is one of the highest rated HBO fighters, and receives basically the maximum HBO payday [two million.] he's never been on ppv.

the major appeal with the chavez fight is that it's an easy opponent. i can't see him making more against chavez in vegas than he did in england against groves in the rematch.

i actually can't find exact figures for purses after the froch - groves rematch. i'm led to believe that it's a very high number, but i can't get it pinned down with a concrete source.
    Froch got $10.9 million
    Groves got $2.9 million

      but on to the topic...

Many of you like a grunt like Froch because you think you can identify with him....lol...well get this...

He is CONTENT with being a DISTANT #2 to Andre Ward...completely and shamelessly resigning himself from going for Glory...

for himself AND his lacking Boxing nation...

It's pathetic...and those of you who are defending it have no idea how bad that makes you look...

Britain's top fighter is happy with being 2nd Rate...if you had ANY personal familiarity with Greatness, you would be HATING him for this...

but you don't have any...you are literally aspiring to be average Joes.
Aspiring to be average joes? I'm pretty certain i have a more lucrative lifestyle than you so i hope you have a good job etc to back this up unless you're some keyboard warrior

Just so you've not noticed, I'm British. Here's the consensus here in UK

*Hardly anyone cares for a ward rematch here. Even to many in America
*In normal circumstances, when the betting odds are conclusively in favour to Ward, when most people predicted ward would win and then Ward won convincingly. That pretty much means the case can be closed can't it. No need for another fight
*We British back our fighters full stop, win or lose, we are not glory hunters like you
*Ward is deep down clamouring for this fight more than froch - speaks volumes about the irony.
*you have 'personal familiarity' with greatness? I somehow doubt that.
*nothing pathetic about it. Guess what, super 6 is over. Ward won convincingly. He's 'number one'. You should be happy. Froch is in a better place. Get over it. It's obvious why you dislike Froch. You have Wards ass in your face

This glory you talk about is American made. Andre ward was touted to be the next big thing by HBO. He even got a guarantee for every fight even though he didn't deserve it. Your fighter ward, a so called elite fighter, has been reduced to a club fighter in most people's eyes. The fact is, you are butthurt ward is not getting the attention and because it's a British fighter it seems to add salt in your wounds for some reason. Live with it, if ward carries on the way he has, Froch will ironically be the most remembered and most glorified when time passes, no matter how much money making (at least trying) HBO shoves Ward in your face

Froch doesnt owe Ward anything. He already fought him once and lost, time to move on. Itd be different if Froch beat Ward.

Ward is just begging for a money fight that Froch doesnt have to give him. If anything Ward is ducking Kovalev and the other guys at 175, he's already cleaned out 168. Why is he sticking around begging for fights.

Froch deserves the rematch with Ward in England. Wards not going over seas to fight him so it's whatever to me. **** Ward. Froch can continue fighting and Ward can continue being #1 and bitter. He made a mockery of the super six after head butting his way to victory over Kessler by refusing to travel the way EVERY OTHER FIGHTER IN THE TOURNAMENT DID.

Carl says he is a warrior this and that all his usual crap mouthy chav comments that he usually spouts out with his horrible family members jumping to abuse his opponents via social media...

Carl the warrior who wants to right a wrong with Kessler but not Ward??
Hmmm a blatant duck, he is seen as the cash cow of that division and the only reason he doesn't want to try to get a win over Ward is because he knows he is risking getting schooled even worse than last time.

Would anybody argue Arturo Gatti was the best guy in his division? Would they really put him in the HoF because of his ability? Was the warrior Fernando Vargas loved because of his amazing technical skill? Emmanuel Augustus gave Floyd his hardest fight according to Mayweather for years, despite being a gatekeeper.

              What's my point?

My point is you don't have to be the best boxer in your division, or the sport, to be a great fighter, be beloved, and be someone we should clamor to watch.

              Styles make fights.

Carl Froch is not going to go down at the best guy in boxing.

Carl Froch is not chasing the pound for pound rankings.

Carl Froch is almost done with his career.

So, do I give a flying **** that he won't rematch a guy who thoroughly outclassed him?

              No.

Carl Froch will not beat Andre Ward. If he only has a few fights left, leave that one alone.

Despite this, I think many people would prefer to watch, say, Froch vs. Kessler (two more limited, less "great" fighters) than Ward vs. ______.

Leave it alone. Time for the Cobra to cash out. Let's just see some entertaining scraps. Chavez Jr?

i agree that the real tests for ward are at 175, but to call a fight against his top contender a "cherry pick" is too much. there's middle ground.
Were these heavy underdogs you speak of soundly beaten previously by the same fighter though??

not in most, but in some cases, yes. knockouts at HW come to mind. liston - clay, patterson - johannson for example.

froch is ward's # 1 contender. unless he moves up, there is no better fight.
