Lol @ Haymon running a witness protection program. That Gonzalez loss did shake him up a bit. He's changed everything. He's Haymon now, joined Virgil Hunter's camp, ducked the Gonzalez rematch, and passed on a title shot against Miura at 130.
Rematch for what? He was put to sleep in 90 seconds. And I'm a Mares fan but this **** is getting ridiculous.

I feel ya. This is a protection move no doubt the guys across the street at 126 handle that ass easy. So get ready for mares against a bunch of fringe contenders from now on and one of those fringe contenders will ko mares guaranteed. He talked so much about wanting to fight nonito and garcia now he has the chance and what did mares do with the chance he ran the other way. Wow.

Whether he should or shouldn't have fought him again isn't the question. He agreed to the rematch and then pulled out. He cited a rib injury but didn't make any effort to postpone it, he just walked away aka ducked.

Haymon was in his ear "don't take that fight abner I can get you paid more by these idiots at showtime and you can fight taxi drivers" he used that same line with adonis and tried to use it with Chavez as well.

                Mares took the Mayweather route.

Mares was like TR vs GBP fights? Rigo? Hell nah. He went running to Uncle Al.

He ducked a guy that put him to sleep in 90 seconds. Seems understandable to me.
