Yea, I think September 13 was only for a non PPV/HBO fight.

Golovkin being the first choice is most likely because GGG won't demand much (B-side), whereas Froch would want the negotiations on equal terms (purse, rematch clause, introduction/ring walk, venue, etc)

thinking about how arum negotiates, this is probably a consideration. it might also be a tactic to try to get froch not to demand too much if he is only "second choice" as i think froch v jcc is probably the fight that froch is thinking about next.

Exactly - people who don't deal with contract negotiations do not realize how much time and effort a deal takes.

Surely Chavez will want to fight the world champion? I think he'll also view froch as the easier fight

GGG shouldn't worry about 168. Hopefully he can get Martinez after Geale.

A Jr. Vs Froch fight would be awesome and would fullfill Froch's dream.

Doubt it, only if Martinez loses

Martinez/Cotto has to face Rubio next and I doubt he stays quite for long. He'll push for the title as he's already the interim champ.

So any possible fight isn't until next year... unless Martinez loses

It's not though. Hearn has said that it's between DeGale, Kessler and Jr. Froch has ruled out DeGale so it's Chavez or Kessler.

If Froch doesn't retire that is.

It's a travesty if GGG does not get Martinez. Cotto will surely fight Floyd should he win.
