VERONA, NY -- Turning Stone hosted "Kings of the Ring: A Conversation with Mike Tyson and Larry Holmes" today to promoted this week's ESPN Friday Night Fights (see fact sheet below), promoted by Iron Mike Productions, at the resort casino in upstate New York.

Longtime sports columnist for the Syracuse Post-Standard and Syracuse.com, Bud Poliguin, served as the moderator, asking the two Hall of Famers and world heavyweight champions a series of questions, before the floor was opened for the many fans in attendance to ask Tyson and Holmes questions.

Great read thanks for posting it.

I just love to read about what happens behind the stage in boxing. Also Mike and Larry are two of my all time favorites.

          Good stuff.

Great with the mutual respect. I didn't expect that at all as Holmes was very vocally disgusted with Tyson back then.

Good read. I like hearing from the fighters and how they view times in the past. Even nice to hear Mike's honesty about himself as a fighter, Holmes as his opponent and even the mark that the Douglas loss left on him. No longer is it about not preparing, distractions, etc. But that he simply learned more about himself as a person and a fighter.

It also sounds like Don King straight up lied to Holmes (telling Holmes that he should come out of retirement because he could beat Tyson) in order to get Tyson a top name that TYSON could beat.
