Anyway Schaefer is a knob and his only intention was to protect his cashcow in Mayweather and not make the fights we want.
I'm pretty damn sure fans were asking for Mayweather vs Mosley and Mayweather vs Canelo and both happened. People also said Mayweather would never fight Ortiz because he's into fighting old past prime fighters like Marquez and Mosley, who Pacquiao fought right after Mayweather fought them.

I'm also sure I see in the headlines that Arum will not make Pacquiao vs Garcia if Haymon is involved, and has never wanted to work with Haymon in the first place.

Fighters will always be the main focus on any fight event, not the promoters, trainers, network, etc.

Promoters can only do so much. The main promoters of fighters, and eventually the sport, are ultimately the fighters themselves. Take a guy like Broner, for instance, with his silly antics in his pre/post fights, things that are repugnant to some fans. You don't need a promoter to make fans see a guy like that and see him lose. And his fights are usually entertaining.

And of course the controversies, promotional issues, ducking, personal lives of fighters outside of the ring, add to the interest in the sport.

Schaefer will land on his feet. He always does.

It's Schaefer...not Schaffer. Few people know this but he was also single-handedly responsible for the defeat of the ****'s during WWll as well as the creation of crotchless panties.

So it was actually because of Mayweather and Pacquiao. It still is because of May and Pac, with Mayweather vs Canelo and Pacquiao vs Marquez 4 bringing boxing fans to life again.

The pressure is now on Canelo, Broner, Chavez Jr, to become the next PPV stars.
