Schaffer is the reason UFC never surpassed Boxing.

Anyone Remember the joke 4 years ago about how the UFC was going to **** boxing in PPV sales if PAC/Floyd didn't happen?

Well if Arum, King and punch-drunk Osvar were still running things that may have been the case, but Schaffer not only stopped Boxing from sinking, he grew the sport bigger than it's ever been in the last 2 decades. Floyd/Canelo broke records w/o pacquiao and Arum. He basically mainstreamed a dying sport and made it relevant in the 21st century. I hope he starts a company of his own and continues the greatness he started with Gbp.

Cuz if u thought a drug abusing, speech slurred, cross dresser was running Golden Boy these last few years you are sadly mistaken.

I think you're putting too much emphasis on a boring 36 minute fight and proclaiming it as being the savior of boxing and getting it back into the mainstream

Who was most responsible for promoting Canelo Alvarez?

it was oscar who recruited canelo, not shaefer, televisa made him a star, not schaffer, floyd fighting anybody else other than canelo doesnt get close to those numbers... without that fight they have a profit issue...

UFC was never going to take over from boxing, if that were to happen K1 would have had a massive boost years and years ago, which it didn't.

Anyway Schaefer is a knob and his only intention was to protect his cashcow in Mayweather and not make the fights we want.

Mayweather vs De La Hoya and Hatton was the reason, followed by Pacquiao's jump from 135 to 147 to fight DLH, Hatton, Cotto. So it was actually because of Mayweather and Pacquiao. It still is because of May and Pac, with Mayweather vs Canelo and Pacquiao vs Marquez 4 bringing boxing fans to life again.

The pressure is now on Canelo, Broner, Chavez Jr, to become the next PPV stars.
