Come on now the only reason cotto chose to fight Martinez is because he is banking on Martinez being shot. Why not fight ggg for the WBA belt because ggg would whooped that a$$

Yeah, but missing Margarito is like missing the side of a barn. And, assuming he really was using plaster, Martinez is still a middleweight with middleweight power. Not to mention the fact that Sergio's handspeed and superior boxing ability guarantees he'll land far more often than Marg ever did. If a healthy "Maravilla" shows up on Saturday, it could very well be Miguel's swan song.

You are watching too many bitter Sergio interviews. You must be confusing Cotto with somebody else. Cotto fights ANYONE and relishes the challenge. Martinez is the one doubting himself. Was Cotto supposed to just jump into middle and face Sergio overnight?

WHERE was Sergio when Cotto was at his peak? Who was Sergio back then?

Be real about the REALITY of this match up and appreciate that their paths are crossing at a time and weight that does NOT necessarily benefit Cotto either.

I sense a lot of nerves. On one hand, we are being told how Sergio is going to DESTROY Cotto, but then... The nerves kicks in and they wanna bring up Sergio being shot etc .

          AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

ggg isn't the WBC and lineal middleweight champ.

and ggg's belt is a regular belt not the super one.

He didn't try to climb no ****ing mountain...Foh! He's trying to be opportunistic. Thinking Martinez is faded & vulnerable. But what he & Freddie forgot is this isn't Pac vs a par-time fighting DLH.....Sturm would beat the **** out of Miguel as well. Cotto is definitely brave & a "man's fighter". But this isn't a example of him taking on a huge challenge. It's their version of a snatch & grab.

The only factor is how Sergio will look after knee surgery and the lay off but he still should have more than enough to stop Cotto.
Barring injury, i can't see how this fight ends in anything but a KO loss for Cotto.

It's only now that people say Cotto has no shot. An the 40 year old with extensive Knee surgeries and Shoulder problems is the overwhelming favorite.

Lets put this as it is, this is the best all around boxer Martinez has ever faced, speed, power, ring intelligence. The only win that Martinez gets in my books that was impressive was Kelly Pavlik. Besides that he has fought a bunch of unknown brits at the time he fought them. And Paul Williams a guy the was just volume and got exposed by Carlos Quintan the first fight.

Martinez has horrible defense and loves to exchange. The body lesson Cotto is going to give to this guy is going to make him wish he did not solely rely on movement to win fights.

This is going to be a great fight Cotto may or may not win, but for everyone to discard Cotto as the far inferior opposition with no shot, really knows nothing about boxing.
You sound dumb as ****! Cotto was never considered a fav vs MArtinez....& Would NEVER be considered a fav vs Jr. He's YOUR fav bi*chboy. & speed power, intelligence??? huh? wtf are u smoking. He's not stronger than anyone Martinez has faced at MW...Not faster than williams...the case for intelligence may be there...but the only big fight Miguel has won is vs shane. & many believe he faded down the stretch & lost that...just like his life or death struggle w/ clottey was debatable. Get off his nuts & see him for what he's done. His glory is at 40 & a lil @ 47. He might've beaten tony in part II. But the powers that be saved him from crumbling again. Wut grudge match have u ever seen where they fighters don't fight the championship rds??? foh! They knew Tony was gaining momentum & cotto might wilt....yall overrate miguel. I'm certain he will fade in this fight & clam up ANNNND begin to fight dirty once he gets uncomfortable & realizes he's gonna get battered. Martiniz on the other hand fought guys nobody else would fight on his path to glory....Pavlik couldn't make a fight...(took on short notice) Nobody in 2-3 divs would fight paul but crazy azz Tony. So beat it w/ ur trying to diminish this guy. He did all this at an advanced age. & I thought he won the 1st williams fight....They even tried to rob the guy over & again until he closed the show & created his own destiny. Go jerk off to cotto's pic u lil girl.

Martinez has way more power than margarito ever had. Way more. Margarito was a pure accumulation fighter. Martinez has legit one punch knockout power at middleweight. Now a lot of that is a function of martinez's speed, but he still has it. Ask paul williams.

It's not that Cotto is inferior, but he is an undersized fighter who is clearly past his prime. Unfortunately, I really believe that Margacheato ruined Cotto with those plaster wraps. Although Miguel seems to have recovered, he's never been quite the same.
