Which other promoter can secure such deals (ie. venue and dates) for Floyd?
The Sept date that was reserved got unreserved a few weeks ago. I am not sure who they are made with but I would think GBP reserves it for floyd.

I think the MGM will go with whatever fighter/fights makes them the most money. Thats still floyd-look at how much the live gate for floyd maidana exceeded manny v tim. Of course if Canelo wants the Mex Independence Day weekend for a Cotto fight MGM may go with that given his popularity. The major difference is seat cost-floyd's price per seat avg is surely higher than Canelo's (at this stage of Canelo's career).

I don't know how the MGM would get resrved but my guess is Haymon's has staff that know how to go about reserving dates when he was doing the concert promotion business. We also don't know if SChaffer leaving means the staff he brought with him to GBP is leaving as well. If so, I would guess they would be hired to get things done.

Cool so these TV networks will be in a bidding war for these co promotion fights. This will make sure the best fights will be made and happen more often.

Schaefer COO will be resigning in the next couple of days; Floyd reserves the date and if he choses the MGM Grand(90% he will) there's a reason he has banner on the front on the Hotel. This isn't accidental this was the plan for a while now; it's time to watch it take shape.

Who the hell Schaefer was really working for?

Can't believe people are ragging on Oscar on this one.

Oscar is playing the role of the victim but I don't think he's a complete idiot. I think he has a good case against a shareholder/employee using company funds to start an outside venture with a competing business that has essentially destroyed GBP if that were to take place.

If it is true that the company is losing money than that makes his case even stronger.

Whoa. If this was true, Schaefer wouldn't be resigning, this would be huge. Embezzlement? You're talking jail time. I think some of you are getting carried away.

Not at all. If Schaefer forms another promotional company that destoys GBP, you best believe there will be lawsuits. Unless you believe De La Hoya and his legal team are complete idiots that will just accept being walked over.

IMO, I believe Schaefer re-signed today as a pre-emptive move against litigation that was coming from Oscar De La Hoya
