If 50 Cents can get a promoter's license, how hard can it be for the former CEO of GBP, who is also a former Banker? Floyd's Mayweather Promotions were already co-promoters in all his fights since 2007. It's not going to be that hard.Comment

has fiddy put a fight out by his own since being a promoter? LOL!Comment

I'm sure Mayweather Promotions can hire another promotional team to do the same things they hired GBP for. So from that standpoint it wont be a big deal, especially with espinoza still at showtime.
I wonder if floyd or showtime will now exercise the out clause in the contract even though Floyd has fought 2 times in 12 months and sold 4 mil ppv's.
I don't see cotto beating sergio but if he does, and floyd wants to fight him, he will surely have to let TR handle the promotional stuff, which is sonething he clearly doesn't want to do.
This is shaping up to be floyd/quillin or floyd/garcia at the barclays in sept. Niether fight does much for me unless floyd v danny would be at 140.Comment

Would you have said that Top Rank "severely overpaid" if they had won the bid?
Featherweights Gary Russell and Vasyl Lomachenko, both former ESPN.com prospects of the year, will meet for a vacant world title after Golden Boy Promotions, representing Russell, beat archrival Top Rank, Lomachenko's promoter, in one of the closest purse bids in memory Friday.
Golden Boy won the promotional rights to the fight with a bid of $1,052,250, edging Top Rank's offer of $1,050,000 at the ceremony in Orlando, Fla., site of a Top Rank card on Saturday night.
The difference of $2,250 was only two-tenths of 1 percent between the bids. The minimum bid was $150,000.

"How will boxing promoter/rap star Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson celebrate his 39th birthday?
By promoting a July 2 fight card headlined by a junior lightweight world title elimination bout between Mark Davis and Michael Farenas, of course.
Jackson, whose birthday is July 6, is promoting his birthday bash card for the second year on ESPN2's "Friday Night Fights," although this year's show is on a special Wednesday night edition of the series. The card will take place at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut.
In the co-feature, former featherweight titleholder Billy Dib will move up in weight to junior lightweight and face former featherweight title challenger Alberto Garza in a scheduled 10-round bout.
"I'm thrilled to return to Foxwoods Resort Casino, celebrating my birthday yet again with ESPN 'Friday Night Fights,'" Jackson said in announcing the card on Thursday.
"Last year was such a success I couldn't pass up the opportunity to do it again and deliver an amazing night of boxing. All of the fighters on the card bring strength, power, endurance and agility to the sport. It's a night you won't want to miss."

However, if Floyd's PPVs are so-called "flops," then we know what EVERYONE ELSE's events are. The haters act like they know what Showtime is making out of the deal. If Showtime was losing money, they wouldn't keep giving us these kind of cards. In the meantime I'm just going to sit back and enjoy! Can't wait for Canelo vs. Lara!Comment
