Is Showtime really going to be ok with Mayweathers 32 million+ guarantee with only the Haymon stable available to fight? Who on that roster is going to bring in the PPV numbers? Lara? Danny Garcia? Thurman? Porter? I guess Khan but I don't think even that fight interest a lot of people outside the hardcore fans.
Golden Boy will be fine. They still have the number one Mexican draw, Canelo, as well as a guy in Mares that people like to watch fight and is still young enough to bounce back from his first loss among a lot of other fighters. How many young starts are going to take a chance with a volatile guy like Floyd with their careers?
If I am a guy like Adrian Broner I would rather be with a Golden Boy with a chance to fight Pacquiao and make more than he would make fighting anyone on Haymon's roster, including Floyd...

To the people who know GBP books, it might of needed to happen.
I'm pretty sure though Oscar has a plan and was not surprised.
You are giving Oscar a ton more credit than he deserves~

He doesn't seem to know much about GBP he said he has to look into what fighters they even have, and you expect him to be deep in the books knowing what exactly is best.

I think he will continue to have the same influential roll he has now, simply with Schaffer and Mayweather.

Remember it was with Schaffer and Haymon that Showtime did business with. I'm sure with Showtime behind them they'll have no problem recruiting even more fighters to their new promotional company.
It takes more than just Schaefer and Mayweather to make a promotional company.

Also, Mayweather, despite his name recognition and the amount he makes per fight, isn't the same kind of brand image DLH or Leonard was when they started their promotional companies, so we'll see what kind of corporate spnosorships and what not a promotional company of his would get.

Plus this would be only Schaffer and Floyd, Haymon as a advisor sits back and collects money, as a promoter he will actually have to risk money. I don't see this so call new 3rd company that is suppose to be created lasting long.
Only reason the networks kiss Haymon's ass is because of Floyd. Once that low risk mofo retires, that is going to change.

Is that english? I seriously have no clue what you are even trying to say. If you are saying it is more than them 3... it isn't. Because the FIGHTERS might be signed to Haymon but the people who MAKE the commercials/posters/blillboards and who set up press tours, media days and a slew of other things that go into a fight all work for GOLDEN BOY. I'll put it this way, Bill Gates is still rich but MS would go out of business if it wasn't for the programmers, engineers and all the other people that are overlooked. Scheafer didn't take any infrastructure with him, just giant ego's.

It also shows Oscar's lack of involvement even now.
Okay, I got it, you think Oscar is an idiot. We will find out soon if you're right

people fail to realize that Floyd isn't in his 20s with 15 more fights to go...he's got 2...once he's gone, whatever Haymon and Schaeffer come up with wont have much legs to stand on

unless they wanna start selling $25 PPVs with a goal of 300K buys or something

Who's going to run GBP now? De La Hoya has been up and down with his personal issues and shouldn't be trusted to lead the company right now. I keep hearing people say that Schaffer is easy to replace but I'm not so sure, he was there for a while and gained the trust of the fighters associated with GBP.

Who can step in to replace Schaffer and keep things moving smoothly?

That is the thing though as long as they have Floyd while he is still Floyd they have something. 50 never had Floyd which is why he never really had anything, you put Floyd in with 50s other roster and he is probably set up.

They do have to move quick though because they have 3 Floyd fights to get things stable and set up.
