Yvon Michel is a Canadian boxing promoter. His company called GYM is based in Montréal.

If Haymon's fighters are now going to be primarily promoted by a Canadian promoter, I don't see how that's a positive thing for Haymon's primarily US-based stable.

It'd be really bad for Mayweather if he decides to only work with Haymon fighters not signed with GBP from here on out...His limited options just got smaller.

Garcia is a solid fighter, but the fight is more of a mismatch than Maidana fight (on paper)...At least Maidana had power and was coming off a solid win...Garcia is coming off the worse performance of his career and he's a slow boxer puncher. He doesn't bring much to the table. I can't see it selling well on PPV

This is a perfect example of pride coming before the fall. The only fighter Odl has is Canelo who he just walked out on before the biggest fight of his life. And this didn't happen 5 years ago, this was last September. Lets see, when its time to renew do I stay Odl or Schaefer, who is well respected and knows how to generate revenue... can't see that being a tough choice for any fighter. And now Schaefer still gets money from GBP while he works for another company. Oscar is going to learn it is HARD HARD HARD to find quality people.

Don't really see immediate good coming from this...don't really know why people are celebrating. Schaefer set up some memorable cards. If Shaeffer is bad, well then so is Arum. That guy is fleecing PAC and yet Pac's fans still support him. Unbelievable really. The nature of the boxing business necessitates some sleeze, but overall Shaefer held his own in a cutthroat business.

Schaefer had basically exclusivisity to Haymon's growing stable of fighters..now everything is in limbo. It's just as likely to breed THREE power brokers in Boxing instead of spurring this unification everyone is dreaming of.

More division is what I see on the horizon. Not more unity.
