This is a huge mistake by Oscar.
Schaffer was the brains of Golden Boy and everyone including the fighters know it.
Many fighter will depart GBP and follow Schaffer who no doubt will start a new with Floyd Mayweather.

you do know schaeffer isnt the only CEO in the world right?

and why would fighters depart arguably the biggest (the only other promotion that comes close to GBP is top rank) boxing promotion to go follow an investment banker and a fighter who doesnt even have a boxing license?

If marquez can leave GBP to get a pacquiao fight, what do you think is going to happen to other fighters who are less successful than marquez?

you can always hire people with fancy degrees to make sure the money count is right just like you can hire managers like haymon.

you just cant hire major boxing promoters.

what's al haymon's big roster of fighters gonna do if the two biggest promotional companies in the world decide to freeze out schaeffer, floyd and haymon out?

I believe fighters will follow Schaffer and Al Haymon because it is them that have the relationship with Showtime. It is them who have built GBP into the biggest promotional company in the world. It is them who have the TV dates, with Showtime. Everyone knows Oscar has done jack *****. He's a liability and runs on emotions. What do you think is going to happen when Oscar and Arum are at each others throats again?

Props to Schaefer! **** that cokehead, cross-dressin', mother****er! Who was holding it down while he was in rehab? I hope Schaefer, B-Hop, Floyd, and Haymon do something real big. Arum is a snake! There's a reason Oscar, Floyd, and Cotto went solo, and they all did better without him. There's a reason Rigo, Chavez, and Mikey Garcia are all trying to leave or renegotiate. Arum is poison.
