  • The "WTF" is Andre "SOG" Ward doing with his career thread

Talk all things about Andre ward in here.

Since Andre Wards shenanigans are more interesting outside the ring than inside(hes boring as fcuk) i thought ill get some questions on here going for a discussion.

1)Why wont Andre Ward leave America when its blatantly obvious he would get payed **** loads to fight Froch with a 50 50 split in Nottingham City ground

2)i) Why has he refused drugs tests even thugh he is linked with Victor Conte?

ii) Why did he not show any medical evidence of his "rotator cuff injury"?

    3) Why did he weight drain Chad Dawson who already exposed at light heavy to 168, then fight a club fighter over a year later who couldnt even make the weight?

    4) Why does Ward tell Kovalev that if he wants the fight he needs to "move down", but with Golovkin he has to "move up". Why does Ward not budge. Especially with Kovalev as he fought at light heavy in the Olypmpics???

    5) Why does he not apologise for the illegal tactics he used in the Kessler fight. ALL 3 cuts were caused by headbutts, not one were caused by his feather fisted punches?

    6) Why when there was a recession did Froch still get 10 000 in Nottm and prepared to travel to US to KO Taylor. Ward only gets 2000 in oakland and they mainly go to family and friends. I would be surprised if they gave tickets away outside the arena?

Why do you hate Andre, Slimshandy?

I agree with the Kovalev part though. To achieve more greatness, he has to move up in weight eventually. So why not now? Maybe because he sees Kovalev as too much of a threat.

          Not to mention:

Ill make the weight, no problem, Dawson said. Im still eating. I told everyone I could make 168. I wasn;t saying it to sell a fight, I was saying it because I can do it. We have talked about moving to 168 for the last few years. When I finally had the opportunity to do it, I did it.
This point is lost among fans, a weight drained fighter isn't 15-20lbs heavier the next day and even if he was it was his own fault, but he wasn't weight drained Ward is a better fighter than him.

I think the situation with Andre Ward is that he is getting bad advice from a bad manager and he somehow believes that he is a bigger star than he is. The fact that he thinks Dan Goosen should still be providing him with fights while he is in the process of suing Goosen proves that he is either an idiot or is getting some really bad managerial advice. As a result, he will end up losing out on millions of dollars by the time his career ends.

In the time he has been sitting on the shelf trying to get out of his contract with Dan Goosen, he could have fought Froch II, Stevenson, Kovalev and any number of other fights that could have made him 10 to 15 million dollars. Since he won the Super 6 tournament, he has wasted the momentum from that tournament. By the time he resolves his issues with Goosen, he will discover that he is no longer considered a hot commodity in boxing and will not even get the kind of money he could have gotten if he had fought regularly over the last two years.

He is the best fighter at 168. No question. When fighting he is top 3 p4p.

But his inactivity and fighting his promoter is wasting away his prime.

What gives? He should be traveling because he is not a draw for now. He should go up to find new challenges. He is not doing anything with his career. His best win came 3 years ago.

I dont get it. Does he want to showtime?

i dont hate him, i liked him, he has a white Father and a black mother which makes him mixed race. So yes you are correct, but i dont know why you would mention that???

I use to like him, a good christian man, but since the 115-113 win over froch, hes really just left a bitter taste in my mouth.

hes obviosly a good boxer, but you cant deny there are some questions that need answering.

Hes not even got a scheduled fight ffs and hes in his prime.

Rory mcilroy had legel issues but he still had scheduled golf tournies in 2013.

Evidently hes joined a new promotion team so perhaps he will fight. But even if he gets a fight scheduled today(which wont happen) he will need 2/3 months which means hes fought 3 times in 3 years against weak opposition.

But since boxrec has no scheduled fight, come December of 2014 if he aint fought since then he would have fought twice in two years against bums in his prime.

Im sorry, but surely his biggest fans must be worried about that???

100% right. Had he taken the initiave and travel and move up, he could be a draw by now.

if he moved up he would have hopkins, kovalaev adonis stevenson, some real big cash fights...and everyone would be a winner.

hes a big lad that fought at Light heavy in the Olympics so we know he can do it easy.
