This is his biggest chance to make a good name to the general public

If Landy fails, he's an overrated Cuban with a blah style, a couple of draws and a couple of loses in less than 25 fights. He's hish.
Ps. . . I'm glad Lara is no Rigo or else my Mexican country man would be in deep trouble

Although I didn't think Canelo would beat Mayweather, I hoped he would. The kid was poised to be a superstar. The writing was on the wall. Major companies were positioning themselves to use him as the face of boxing. It's been a long time since we truly had that in the United States. It would've been amazing for the sport. But now it's all gone. I don't think it's coming back. Fair or not, once Alvarez lost to Floyd, the image evaporated. Casual fans have to believe you're invincible.

I do agree with you about why Lara needs to win so badly. He is dangerous, not a big name, doesn't have an entertaining style, and without a big name on his resume he is toast and won't be able to get money makers to fight him.
He is back to fighting contenders/prospects/decent names off of losses if he loses next month. I just think he isn't versatile enough and Canelo is on the up getting better all of the time.
