    On the subject of "quitting."

Just curious because I do see a lot of convenient excuses for some fighters deciding to quit in a fight where they are treated as warriors for saying. "Aye, no mas," from the comfort of their stool. It seems they get a pass by their countrymen, the very same "fans" who then pretend their guys have never quit in the ring, and then begin to talk like 15 year old boys about "quitters."

Is there a cool way to quit? A warrior way to quit? What is the legit way to quit?

    Stool?

    Knee?

For the record, I respect a guy who knows he is done in the ring. So I am not about passing judgement on fighters. I am interested in the mentality on this forum though as it applies to dissing professional fighters who "quit"

The best way to quit is to turn in a 2 weeks notice

I guarrantee if no puerto rican fighters had notable moments where they quit or had the perception of being quitters you'd have no problem with dissing other fighters from different nationalities who have done it.

It just depends on the fans that a particular fighter have.

Morales quit in his 3rd fight with Manny Pacquiao and no one sees him as a coward or gave him any crap for that.

Vitali Klitschko quit from an injury against Chris Byrd and I remember people at the time calling him a coward and quitter.

It all just depends on how people see it.

When Cotto took the knee against Margarito, that was acceptable quitting. Same with Dawson against Ward. In both cases the fighter who quit had given what they could and had nothing else left. Continuing was pointless and would only ruin them.

Ortiz against Maidana or the typical Tor Hamer fight are unacceptable quitting, where a fighter clearly could have kept going but chose not to.
