Thing is, if you hold Froch v Ward (or Froch v Hopkins) you get a fight that's not very entertaining and the public won't be interested in coming back.

You also increase the risk of the star man (or the draw) losing in a boring fight, which hurts the product.

Why do that when you can make Froch v DeGale (a UK name) or Froch v Kessler III?

As far as it goes, if he wins, Froch has said he wants to fight Chavez Jr. or Golovkin in Las Vegas.

I respect Hearn for trying to hype his own domestic scene and it's fighters but we should be fair and honest with ourselves. Many of you chiming in are downing Adonis Stevenson and his team for the same reasons. i.e. looking to make the biggest MONEY fights. Adonis will get way more to fight Hopkins right now than he will to fight Kovalev right now so he's a cowardly duck but Hearn can openly state that he is not interested in a Ward fight due to what? The MONEY. It cant be one way today but another way tomorrow. It is what it is and boxing is a business.
