Cotto's 2 biggest losses are both asterisk worthy. *

Cotto gets ****ed up everytime he steps up. With Martinez it will be no different, unless Martinez is truly shot.
Margarito was gonna stop him again in the second fight but his ****ed up eye saved Cotto.Comment

Wow, do you actually believe what you type?
You know for a fact that Manny was not juicing?
You actually think they suspended Margarito for baby powder wraps?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Stop crying lol.
What will your excuse be when Cotto ends up looking like he's been through a meat blender after the Martinez fight?

No man, I speak my mind. If you look around, you will realize most people simply like to parrot what others are saying. For them, it is far more important to be like other people. I choose to express my actual thoughts. Not worried about being popular as I am not 15 years old. Even then, I lead the pack. If you have to curb your thoughts for the sake of some Lord of the Flies village, then you are left with anything BUT a forum where opinions are truly expressed. Again, I sincerely believe that Manny was roided up.Comment

That could happen. Cotto is a good fighter, not great. I find it funny with all the fighters busted for PEDS over the years with FAR less ring success, somehow when a scenario like Pacquaio comes along, the NEED for an idol is so intense, that dudes will deny what is in front of them. 40 year old dudes looking ripped, chest acne and looking like killers. Dudes all of a sudden putting Paul Williams to sleep with one punch. Roy Jones moving up to heavyweight lookin shredded etc etc. I choose NOT to be naive when I am presented with certain realities. All good.Comment

I'm a Cotto fan through thick and thin, but the thread starter painted a huge bullseye on your back.
Personally, I'm indifferent about it. Some people want to say Margarito cheated, others say he didn't, others feel choose to not say anything because evidence is circumstantial...I don't blame either side.
As far as the Pacquiao fight, I give him credit for the win, but always bothered me about that fight was how he made Cotto come down 2 pounds under the 147 weight limit. He let Oscar a year earlier come in at 147, and let Clottey shortly after the Cotto fight come in at 147. They knew there was a slight advantage to be gained, and why not take it? Pac's success blew up with the Oscar win, then he became bigger after the Hatton KO. That little detail always bothered me, but hey...had it been at a full 147, Cotto might've looked a tad better, but Pacquiao would've still won, so he gets full credit regardless.
I thought the scores were a little too wide in the Mayweather/Trout fights but I have to watch them again...Cotto lost those fights clearly, though.
I guess the only one you could put an asterisk (if you wanted to) on would be Margarito.
A lot of people say Margarito looked like crap or that his power "disappeared" after they took the wraps, but that's simplistic. He never touched Mosley when he fought, got beat up by Pacquiao BUT...Pacquiao didn't leave that fight unscathed, and the Cotto rematch? Cotto clearly won (and I'm almost positive he would've walked away with a UD had it gone a full 12), but Cotto's face was scuffed up.
.....
But then again, that Sebastian Lujan fight was a really strange injury.
I don't know what to make of Margarito, honestly. I go back and forth.Comment
