Why no Dawson/Stevenson II?

Shouldn't a champion get a rematch? Plenty of great champions in the past have been knocked out by a foe only to come back and regain their title yet Dawson doesn't seem to want it. It's weird, why not?

I'm sure he does but which promoter really wants to pay to try and help him get back on top? It's not like he has a fan base to make a profitable return off.

TKO 1, 1:16, would be why. Everybody's dumping on Stevenson now, despite decisively winning his last fight, but if you can't handle his power you can't handle his power.

Dawson should focus on getting some Ws and fighting more regularly.

It was a first round KO. Hard to justify a rematch of a fight that ends in the 1st. Not to mention Dawson was probably ruined against Ward and might not want a Stevenson rematch.

dawson signed with al haymon so kovalev is out the window.

i think eventually dawson fights for one of the 3 vacant belts Hopkins vacates after he beats stevenson

of course once hopkins beats stevenson and retires.......kovalev will be the number 1 ranked fighter in the division and stevenson number 2. The Lineal throne can only be contested by the number 1 and 2 ranked contenders.....so we will see if the fight happens then.
