I'm not sure Dawson wants to jump back in with the best just yet. You could justify him getting a rematch though. He was the champ. He got caught with a bomb before anything really happened. I want Stevenson to fight Kovalev though. I'm not hugely interested in a rematch with Dawson, although I wouldn't be opposed to it.

      Kovalev would retire Dawson.

Remember he was KO'd in back to back fights. I'm sure Dawson doesn't want an immediate rematch. It's time for him to rebuild his confidence and decide if he really wants to continue fighting.

If Dawson can get back on track, I'm sure he'll get another shot at the title. Haymon will make sure he gets another shot.

Somewhat OT, but imagine what Kovalev would do to Bute.

What are you basing that on? What exactly has Dawson done in the last few years besides beat Hopkins? That's not something to dismiss, but it's not like Dawson looked good doing so, he was just too athletic for an old man.

Other than that he lost his two relevant fights against Pascal and Ward, and got smashed in one round by Stevenson. What makes Dawson right now any better than Campillo or Cleverly were?

Basing it on that he was the lineal champ before getting caught. Which happens to be not that long ago

If you dont think Dawson is better than those names then i dont know what to tell you other than its the best fight available, other than Pascal, but if Kov fans are happy with him fighting another Agnew then there is nothing i can say to change that mind set.

He was lineal champ for being more athletic than 47 year old Bernard Hopkins. That's it. He didn't look good, he didn't fight very well, he was just too athletic in an ugly, close fight. Other than that he's lost to Pascal, Ward, and Stevenson, and 2 of those guys destroyed him. That's Chad Dawson's career in the last 4 years or so.

Campillo beat Murat and Cloud. Why is that irrelevant when people want to call Hopkins the best for doing the same and call Stevenson fighter of the year for Cloud being his second best win in a year?

I'd rather Kovalev fight Ward than anyone else, but that's not going to happen because Ward is staying at 168. Pascal would be great, but that's not happening either. I wouldn't complain about Dawson, but it's obvious what would happen in that fight. Dawson would get creamed, it wouldn't be competitive.

Chad has never been rated better than decent.

What is Dawson even up to at this point? I know he signed with Haymon recently.

                      I still like Dawson/Pascall II
