I scored the first Williams fight for Martinez. Sergio had also hurt him a couple times before the landed that sledgehammer in the secound fight and he probably would have stopped him anyway based on the way the fight was going and how Williams was fighting.

Yeah, that was just an added jab on Martinez with the Cotto comment. It's really about Martinez and his resume.

But honestly outside of the super elite like Floyd, Hopkins, manny etc.. Serg's resume is about as good as it gets..

The dude is 52-2-2... Really only clear loss was to margs way back in 2000 when serg was still green.. He turned pro late in life and didn't have huge amateur background so he was a work in progress.
The other loss was a highly debatable split dec loss to Paul Williams, which he brutally avenged..
One of his draws was a bogus decision vs cintron, where serg should have won it twice, once by ko but ref blew it, and then he should have won a decision... That was one of the worst decisions in recent years..

You can make a case that serg is really a 54-1-1 fighter that was a legit 154 and long time reigning 160 champ with numerous big wins.. I just don't see a case for his resume being weak

Wtf? Because he lost to Bhop? Pavlik was Pavlik when he fought Martinez. He dropped Sergio and was in control of that fight. It wasn't until a massive cut opened up and a river of blood started flowing did Sergio seize control of that fight. Pavlik was far from "washed up" in that fight.

B4 his gift to murray martinez was smashing everyone he fought against dangerous fighters ...i kinda feel after not ducking no one that hometown gift was forgivable compared to hypes who get gifts....and his resume is better than cotto as far as wins are concerned

Martinez won his biggest fights, Cotto has lost all but one or two of his. He keeps getting big fights because he has a cult following.
