Such a shame, way too young. R.I.P. champ... one of the toughest LHW warriors ever.

        The man!!

Spinks and Saad were my two favorites. While the young uneducated boxing pontificaters flap their windy jaws espousing the virtues of Adonis "The Pimped Job" Stevenson just know Saad would have beat this pretender to death over and over. Saad was on of the all time greats. I am fortunate to have lived in Philly during his hey day.

Strange, but I was thinking about Saad and the shameful con trick that Superduck and Haymon have pulled with the linear L.heavyweight title only yesterday.
Here's what I thought - would a champion like M.S.M ever have thought that he needed an "advisor" like Haymon to pick his opponents and keep him away from tough fights? Gtfoh!
Saad epitomised the warrior champion. He would fight anybody, anywhere. His heart and ability to take punishment and come back to win were incredible.
R.I.P. M.S.M. And if the gates of paradise are shut when you get there, no problem. The Warrior Gods of Valhalla will surely welcome you with open arms.

              R.I.P Champ

              R.I.P Matthew Saad Muhammad.

In the glory days of the '80's, this guy was one of the best to watch -- PPV quality fights every time he was on ABC's Wide World of Sports. The LHW were a deep, exciting division then, and Saad was easily the most exciting. Warrior defined. Rest easy champ.

No one thrilled boxing fans like MSM!

The ups & dwns, the shots he gave as well as took were breathtaking!
Saturday's were palm sweaty, heartpounding rollercoaster rides when he stepped into the ring!
I think we all cried like babies when the "Camden Buzzsaw" put our hero out, and the slide began for "Miracle Mat".
We all loved you, and you will never forget what you bought to boxing!
