Stevenson is THE GUY at Light Heavy and probably a top 15 p4p fighter. He scheduled a tune up fight with an unknown who he was supposed to walk through. he got dropped by him and found himself in deep ****.
You can't have it both ways though. If Stevenson can't box that well and if he doesn't really punch that hard and if he can't take body shots.......then why was Fonfara's toughness something to be impressed about?

He was being tough against a bum. Big deal, anybody can do that.

See how by discrediting Stevenson you are taking away from Fonfara's performance?

Can Kovalev get into range without getting hit? He does not utilize a high guard and I am pretty certain he doesn't have anywhere near the chin Fonfara does.

Kovalev has no head movement, no upper body movement & is there to be hit.
I have seen wrecklessly charge multiple opponents.
I like Kovalev but his defense is horrible. His great offense has let him get away with it upto now.

His right hand is low, he doesn't bring it back properly. He overreaches with it especially to the body because all he thinks about is offense.

Stevenson for all his hate has fast hands, K.O power in both, hes very good at setting traps and walking guys onto shots. Kovalev has good skills and the power to put any LHW away but I feel this is a bad style match up for him. Stevenson is better than he gets credit for. He didn't look great last night but he overcome that adversity. We also don't know what Kovalevs chin or stamina is like. Maybe he can do 12 but can he do 12 when at a pace when being forced to think defense and forced to move, create angles and took some heavy leather back? Not that I think that will go 12 then again I didn't expect last nights fight too either.

Stevenson obviously doesn't share your optimism, otherwise he wouldn't have run away and entered ****** boy's chicken coop of chickens.

The guy was comfortably outboxing him, dropping him twice. Destroying him!
He faded around 7 & was knocked down in 9. He got up, made adjustments & beat Fonfara the hell up on the inside in what was a damn entertaining fight. What more do you want? What more can you possibly ask for?

This is another fighter and there is 50 threads of praise.

Stevenson is good, man & those bodyshots was sickening.
You think Frankenstein is capable of taking that sort of punishment?

I think that is an easy fight. B-Hop is a tougher fight than Kovalev, much tougher fight.
didn't you make a thread stating that pacquiao was **** after he comfortably outboxed and defeated bradley - a p4p fighter?

You are not exactly the most consistent poster on the site.

Paw paw left hand, paw paw left hand, same move every damn fight, he has power, but his opposition hasn't really been anything special.

                Kovalev would KO him.

Kovalev seems to have good stamina. He didn't gas when he fought Agnew. That fight also showed that he can carry his power throughout the fight.

I was p1ssed but comfortably outboxed? You mean took over after Bradley dominated and punched himself out.

I wasn't impressed with either guy. It was sloppy as hell.

Bradley telegraphing everything he threw, throwing windmills like a damn drunk & gassing. Non stop showboating whilst Pac spent half the fight timid to engage. It was a mess and utterly embarrassing for two of the top 5 p4p fighters in the sport. If you showed that to a casual and said they was two of the best boxers on the planet you'd get laughed at.
