Since when was Golovkin the worlds' best MW?

Dude has a great body attacked and pedigree, but since when did he become the "man to beat" when he hasn't beaten anyone of note except for leftovers and fringe contenders?

There's so much praise for the guy with his heavy hands and balanced attacked, but have we really seen him in vs a top guy? Someone that would give him claim to being the best MW in the world?

He became the man after he knocked out Bob Smith.

Well if people would stop avoiding him then I'm pretty certain you will change your mind sooner or later. I think people are not only pleased by his boxing credentials (Mainly) but also his out of ring personality and so on.

I rate him in the top 5 regardless of which division he switches through, I'm not saying he's the P4P best but he certainly has the tools to become that.

MW is kind of chaotic right now so in a way Golovkin is the best.

Murray and Stevens are both top 10. While that's not exactly a legendary run its not as bad as you say.

Martinez is the best MW but he's not looking so great and he's fighting Miguel Cotto... What does that fight prove? Miguel Cotto is never going to hold and defend a belt at 160 lbs. If by some miracle he wins then we either see a 168 drop down and murder him or in a truly tragic turn of events... We see Floyd win a MW title from him. So pointless.

After that its a long way down.
The 168 tournament pulled a lot of guys who would make MW into that division.
Pavlik is done. Williams is done. Taylor semi-done. Etc.

The depreciation of one fighter increases the appreciation of another.

Fight Math is actually right here.

Since the best mw in the world (Sergio) and his promoter (dibella) refuse to fight him.
