One vital detail about those May and Pac stories: they both won their respective fights. This kid forfeited the win. There's no comparison. Holmes was beating the piss out of an old Ali and famously motioned to the ref to stop the fight...but he didn't stop ****ing on Muhammad's head. lol
MMA fighter quits so opponent dont get beat up

lol Exactly. What's the point of competition? I can understand the kid easing up and cruising to victory against an overmatched opponent. But giving up the win because you feel sorry for him? Time to find a new line of competition, son.Comment

like he said, they werent getting paid for the fight. They must be in the first levels of amateur because amateurs get atleast $200-1000 a fight but in this case they dont get paid.
Great news for him because now he is getting tons of exposure and promoters would want to book himComment

Bad move , when he goes PRO will he tap out to save the other fighters life?
He mustn't have any ambition to go pro if he is forfeiting when he wins.
Why is he in the ring anyway??If your not going to fight to win , GTFO of the sport.Comment

just based off what you said, this is one reason why I miss ESPN boxing message board. We used to have nice conversations about many topics, but I guess that is forbidden here. Sad honestly. It would probably help eliminate the first page being nothing but Manny and Floyd threads.Comment

lol Exactly. What's the point of competition just be realized that there is no money involved her, it an amateur fight. I can understand the kid easing up aging ruising to victory against an overmatched opponent. But giving up the win because you feel sorry for him? Time to find a new line of competition, son.Comment

Have to agree. Those are not the actions of someone who's fully committed to his sport. I've seen rabid competition in every endeavor and at every level, let alone the fighting sports.Comment

I get that and I picked your quote but many have a similar sentiment. It should be noted that there is no purse involved and it is an amateur bout. It was a total mismatch, and the winning fighter knew he was a mismatch in high proportion. If a prize fighter does this then shame on him or Shane in the red fornnot seeing the defeated fighter. However, in this case the red failed. Winning fighter was beating the other guy at will and realized he could unnecessarily hurt this guy. Good on him.Comment
