This fight would make no sense for Cotto. A Cotto/Canelo fight would be huge and bring in a ton of money, that will be Cotto's next fight unless he somehow gets a rematch with Floyd.

Who do you think deserves a shot more than GGG? ... Quillin, who doesn't even want it?

You spoke the truth! GGG fans would say Cotto is ducking him, but GGG admitted that he would move up to fight Chavez Jr., but not Ward because Ward wouldn't be a good PPV fight. Therefore Cotto has the right to do the same thing because Canelo is a much bigger draw than GGG.

There is little doubt in my mind that the winner of the Martinez-Cotto fight will not fight GGG. Martinez should have fought GGG years ago. The lineal middleweight champion should be the best middleweight in the world but GGG is the world's best middleweight. If you doubt this tell me a middleweight who would be the betting favorite to beat GGG.

GGG is a small middleweight who said he could fight comfortably at 154. Why should he have to move up to fight Ward who is a big 168 pounder and the best in the world at that weight??? You don't see mister wonderful Ward agreeing to move up to 175 to fight the best light heavyweights do you? Ward wants GGG to fight him at his weight in Oakland with Ward getting most of the money so why should GGG agree to that?

Hopefully... Martinez wins a close but clear ish fight then fights Golovkin and Cotto has enough hype left to fight the Canelo-Lara winner.

A lot of talking from GGG as usual but when is this guy going to fight somebody good for once?

Amen. Do people truly believe Sergio is scared of Gennady? That's ignorant. He's fought plenty of dangerous punchers and a few guys that are naturally bigger than he or GGG. I like all 3 of these fighters but Gman is only one who's fought mostly clowns honestly. He gets hit a lot from what I see and needs more defense. Curtis Stevens landed couple good flush shots that stopped his progress momentarily. Fight a couple legit guys and then we'll talk

Sergios promoter does sound scared tho

"Sergio will be out for at least a year. You saw his last fight, he won it on guts and will and balls alone. He had no knee, he had no hand, and I'm not sending a champion who is 38-years-old - after a year plus layoff - into a ring with this guy. I'm not saying they will never fight. I'm not speaking for Sergio, who is a grown as man and controls his own career. The successor to Sergio Martinez has already been determined and the next great middleweight is Triple G."
