And Martinez hasnīt ducked GGG for years, he has been injured for a year and half, and before that GGG wasn't at his level yet IMO.

Anyways, I hope Martinez fights GGG after Cotto.

I want to see Martinez-Golovkin as much as anyone but if it doesn't happen, I can see the reason behind it. It may be a bit hypocritical on my end but I do get Sergio's position. He is a great fighter who unfortunately hasn't made the type of money he deserved in his career and after all these injuries he is almost done. He needs to worry about life after boxing in this fight because this could be it. I give older guys nearing the end of their career less of a hard time than prime fighters. That being said, if he dominates this fight and doens't get hurt in the process and chooses to fight on; there is enough money to be made in a Golovkin fight for it to happen.

He seen Floyd and manny have that moment at his expense, under the lights, ppv a big time fight. He's only human let him have his moment. You wanna know why, he brings it and he brings it every time, he deserves this and it's past due.
But Martinez is the champ, it goes against the tradition of boxing. Champ should come in first and be announced first.

The problem here is Martinez is the lineal MW champ, so as fans we should always want the lineal title being defended for the sake of the sport, not held hostage. If Martinez is too old, too injured or too gay he needs to retire. With that said I hope he knocks out Cotto and fights GGG after because the worst case scenario is Cotto winning, which would then make him the lineal champ and we all know he would rematch either Pacquiao or Floyd at a CW of like 155 and he'd lose which would make Floyd or Pac the lineal MW champion lol and we know neither would fight a real MW like GG. It would be a disaster

I remember when Pacquiao fought Bradley on the rematch, Pacquiao came in first since he was not champion, regardless of this A/b side nonsense, he knows it is boxing tradition, and he showed respect to Bradley and the sport.
Ok man..*** that..WTF are you talking about boxing tradition ****?
Catch weights and silly request like coming in first and last have been around for many years. If you want to point your ***ing finger at somebody look for someone else because Cotto wasn't the first and this might come to you as a surprise but he won't be the last to request that silly **** either..

I say it doesn't matter because even if Martinez wins he will sit and wait for like a year, is Golovkin going to just waste another year waiting on Martinez hoping he gets that shot, that would be rather unwise for Golovkin.

There would be a MUCH higher chance of Martinez vs Golovkin than Mayweather or Pacquiao vs Golovkin (literally zero chance). Especially if Martinez wins by KO.

I will grant you that and Cotto would be on that list also because he ain't facing Golovkin, but that doesn't make the chances good.

Golovkin got screwed bad here there is no denying that.

Yes it certainly sucks for GGG. But I have hope that if Martinez beats Cotto easy, no injuries, than Martinez vs Golovkin would be the biggest money fight available for Martinez, so I think he would take it.
