Always was and always will be his speed, it contributes to generate his power, and if you take away his speed he is nothing but a southpaw heavy handed volume puncher with pourous defense and quick feet, in other words average at best, he might have still been great, but it would have been all heart and determination, which is probably his second strongest asset, his mind. Let's not forget without his speed, and consequently his power, and his heart, he is actually pretty poor fundamentally, although he's improved over the years. That's why I have always said Floyd would have a field day on Manny, Manny would never trouble him like Maidana did, not 2009 Manny, not any version, Floyd would eat him for breakfast.

Blindingly fast. Wherever his feet land he can throw a shot. His opponents often get caught with shots they don't see coming.

At his current state, I believe it's his experience as a fighter that makes him special. His speed, power, and reflexes have diminished but his experience just keeps growing. Just look at the Bradley-Pac fight, his experience outclassed Bradley. The feints, the counter punching, the defense.. these attributes are not exactly Pacquiao's strengths but because he has been in so many championship caliber fights, he has evolved as a fighter and i believe experience contributed alot to that.

If you take Floyd speed away, he's not a great fighter neither. I mean, Floyd is a defensive wizard but not an offensive master, he relies too much on two punches (his lazer right hand and perfect left hook). His speed allows him to fight that way.

Pacs speed takes him to another level. Out of every top fighter from 140-154, Pac is still the fastest outside of Amir Khan.

That's not true at all, his ring IQ, defensive prowess, and almost impeccable fundamentals would have him at at least a contender status in todays era, you don't need speed to be good defensively, he would have to readapt his philly variance to use more subtle upper body moevment and less legs, and do other minor changes but he isn't bound to his speed the way Manny is. Manny said it himself, "I never had the skill to be a great boxer, only a sheer determination to rise above poverty". Floyd is the exact opposite, he didn't come from overwhelming poverty, and he was both born with a God given gift, and was developed into a world class fighter from near infancy. Not the same at all.
