I don't know. Matthysse, Maidana and Bailey are big punchers and Devon took their shots pretty well. Porter shook him up a few times. Paulie's chin isn't too bad either.

It might have more to do with size and explosiveness, but if you can shake up Devon Alexander you can punch. Devon's chin is rock solid.

If that gets you a Mayweather fight then Shit all of us we weigh around 147 should turn pro now and we might get our shot too.
        THIS!!!!!
Neither guy has a worthy resume for the fight but I'd give Porter a better chance with his hand and more importantly footspeed needed to get in Floyd's kitchen plus he has a belt. Thurman probably has more name recognition as he has been on HBO-SHOWTIME more times than Porter but I see a fight with Floyd a Canelo repeat with perhaps Thurman doing a little bit better as he moves better than Canelo and Floyd being a year plus older.

Love how Shawn Porter beating Devon Alexander for the IBF title just didn't happen in your world.

Knocking Pauli out is a decent sign aswell.

            He can definitely punch.

I would think of Porter as more of a strong puncher than a big puncher, but he obviously does plenty of damage when he lands no matter what you label it as.

Malignaggi is so much of a non threat offensively, especially at this stage, that really one is suppose to do that to him. Thurman would have likely done the same, probably not as early.

Also, Matthysse's power discouraged Alexander, Cunningham had to cheer lead in the corner. Alexander still fought strong against Porter, landed plenty of clean shots, simply didn't have the power to get Porter's respect. That right there tells you Porter has holes in his defense, with all that said I agree he would trouble current Mayweather.

Thurman, unlike Canelo gives you angles, has considerably faster feet and the way he attacks the body which any fighter is more susceptible to in comparison to the head, is gonna give Mayweather problems, maybe even serious problems. It's not reckless lunging in, it's well calculated, he'll wait until you throw and slip into those angles.

Well said. And i'll also add that either fighter are the only 2 welterweight that could probably beat Floyd right now. Which is why he won't fight any of them.

both fights are good but that's why i would rather see Thurman first...i feel he's a bit more versatile and more adaptive...Porter, i see him rushing in and getting clinched like a mfr for 12 rounds
