Totally agreed . Rigo put a masterpiece and hbo and arum don't want him . Now , this punching bag gets beaten and looked slow , flat , with out defense , and gets praise . What kind of boxing they want on tv ? Losers ?
If want to watch this , I go to a bar brawl or watch mma.
Boxing is more than that : hit and not get hit , defense , speed , accuracy , ring genarship ..... Arum is killing this sport .

Bob is going to treat Alvarado the way GBP treats Rosado: giving them the paydays to fight up coming fighters and to pad undercards. Alvarado and Rosado are the same story: two blue collar, tough nosed, exciting, come forward guys that you want to root for, but their most marketable aspect is that they look good losing and they make their opponents look like they've just put on a clinic. They've become gatekeepers for their promoters.

And your logic is ******ed. Pac is 2-2 in his last 4 and Marquez is 2-2 in his last 4 going into this fight. Cotto is 1-2 in his last 3. Hopkins lost 3 out of 5 at one point in his career. Some C Class fighters, huh?

You have to look at the names behind the record. There is no shame in losing to fighters like Mayweaher, Pacquiao and Marquez. Now if he turns around and loses to some journey man ranked 15-20, then you can start talking about C/D class or whatever.
          Very good post

This **** is getting out of hand.
I know, but those have been some damn good fights. Man, Alvarado-Marquez was one hell of a fight.

A lot of those fights would be exciting, but yeah I agree, the sport needs to see the best fight the best.

At the end of the day the sport is being hurt this all this BS. Time to get rid of promoters and all their bull****.

You go to Top Rank website under the fighters section, you'll definitely see Top Rank's plight. Not that he has bad fighters, but there's a lot to be desired there outside of Pacman, Rigo whom he disses publicly, Mikey Garcia, Marquez and Donaire.

He's short on the big superstar with an audience capturing potential outside of Pacman and Marquez's established following. Donaire lost a lot of luster in his loss. Rigo and Garcia are great talents, but don't generate excitement.

Guys like Arce, Rios and Alvarado are pretty much his sell of "it will be a GREAT fight where you can expect excitement" opponents. Meaning they'll try hard, but shed blood and get beat up to make my limited stars look good.

I don't consider Alvarado to be on the level of the top 140-147 guys. A third Rios fight is the only one he could possibly win and even that one he would lose.

Alvarado looked gun shy. One too many wars at his age probably, he is 33.

He's fought wars with Prescott, Herrera, Rios I, Rios II, and Provonikov in a row.

He needs to tune up or two IMO. Then have the 3rd Rios fight, Vargas, Abregu, etc.
