Hey guess what?!?!? Bill Gates is an idol of mine and he's the richest man in the world. You would never guess how much money he's given me.Comment

I like Pacquiao 100 times better than Mayweather because Pacquiao is a class act and Mayweather is an arrogant jerk who thinks his **** don't stink. I could give a fuc if Mayweather sells more pay for views or not. I don't get a dime of that money anyway. Why the hell do you care so much about it anyway?Comment

Why is it that Pac fans don't want to talk about PPV numbers when it is in regards to Manny's popularity but do so when it is in regards to Floyd's? If we do the math Mayweather as outsold Manny Pacquiao in each of their last few respective fights. Mayweather fought two foreigners (one practically unknown to the casual public) while Manny fought two Americans (one of which was the P4P number 3 best fighter in the world) and May still outsold Manny both times.
Some may bring up the undercards but lets be honest only hardcore boxing fans care about undercards. People turn up in droves for the main event and May has been the A-side in at least one of the two biggest money fights in boxing history.
There is reason why Showtime gave Mayweather a guaranteed purse and not Pacquiao. Now Mayweather may not be the most popular fighter ever but he is by far the most popular active fighter today.
Switch Floyd's last two opponents and Manny outsells Floyd, guaranteed. Floyd sells more than Manny but it's obviously not as far apart a Floyd wants people to think. Floyd has Canelo to thank for that huge ppv but look at how he did vs Maidana. And guess what, if Maidana got that decision, Floyds marketability drops like rock. If floyd takes one loss, he goes from a 1M buy fighter to a 300kish buy fighter. Fans watch to see Floyd lose, the 0 is his selling point and that's why he's afraid to take risky fights. Floyd hasn't endeared himself to the general public. Once he loses, purists will still support him but casual fans move on.Last edited by pnksntdead; 05-17-2014, 12:46 AM.Comment

In the end, HBO is in the green on Mannys ppv while Showtime is hurting on Floyds disappointing numbers. Floyd was shrewd in getting the guarantee but in the end he hurting Showtime and boxing itself in general
