    James Degale vs Brandon Gonzalez

This is for the IBF 168lbs title eliminator, so whoever takes this gets the winner of Froch-Groves. This fight is on the undercard of Froch-Groves.

I checked Boxrec and it doesn't mention the eliminator part (strange).

I have to go with Degale as I have backed him, since he turned pro.

Anyways, what do you guys think?

DeGale by decision, but I don't say that with any confidence. I think he has a very tough job on his hands.

Only seen Gonzalez fight once against the tall South African whose name I can never spell. I was impressed, talented kid (a bit Chilemba/Ward/B-Hop esque) but he faded badly after 5.
I think that fight ended in a draw though I am sure recalling I felt he did enough to nick it.

The fight is in DeGales backyard, Gonzalez has his work cut out.

The talent is there, his stamina seems suspect, how is he going to react to such a huge energy sapping crowd?

        Intriguing fight.

You are correct that the fight was a draw, but I felt Gonzalez took it by a round or two. Thomas Oostheizen was the star, so yeah it was a draw.

Good to see you're liking this fight as well. Degale sadly fell of the map, but now he is with Hearn and SKY, so back to the big leagues. Degale smashed and stopped Paul Smith in his 9th fight to give you an idea of his talent. Thought he beat Groves too. This fight is make or break for him.

I was wondering what everyones opinion was on this one also? Pretty even poll at the minute.

DeGale seems to do just enough to win, but i think he performs better when faced with better opposition.

Haven't seen Gonzalez fight, but read an piece earlier in the week by Johnny Nelson who seemed to rate him.

Heart says DeGale but he hasn't looked great for a while, head says Gonzales and hope I'm wrong.

I think I've seen Gonzalez fight once against Ooozthuizen or whatever his name is. I remember thinking he won that fight but can't really remember what he fought like.

I like gonzalez... He looked really good last time i saw him, and i think he is ready for the next level...

Like shawn porter made a name for himself in 2013, i think gonzalez is this years breakout performer...
