  • 800k isn't bad at all but I'm not sure Floyd can get his 32mil guarantee if his buys keep declining?

He might have to fight PAC or someone with a big fan base and deemed dangerous.....

    • I think your seeing the difference of being marketed on Showtime vs. HBO.
HBO is part of the pop culture conversation. Game of Thrones, True Detective, Veep, True Blood are talked about non stop. In the past it was all about the Sopranos, The Wire, Entourage, Sex in the City, etc..
Showtime doesn't really have anything that people flock to in the kind of numbers HBO does. Having Floyd fights being hyped up by HBO brought in a lot of casual viewers. Even with the Canelo fight the hype didn't really feel real until right before fight week. Hell I had people texting me right before the main event asking if Mayweather was really fighting that night on the 3rd. I doubt Showtime paying Floyd has brought in any tangible numbers as far as subscribers go.

      • So with situations that come down to money, how does the site fee factor in? I recall the Barclay's center making a significant offer to host Mayweathers fight. Ultimately the MGM won out. from my understanding the site fee is significant but who does it go to? The promoter? The network?

        • It's over, lads...
After the gloves trick, your boy won't sell shit ever again... unless he fights King Kong.
          Face it.

Mayweather averages in excess of 1 million PPV buys, Espinoza said. That includes a high of 2.4 million homes for the Oscar De La Hoya fight in 2007. Espinoza said he would be "thrilled' if Mayweather exceeds the network's goal of 1.5-million PPV purchases for Guerrero.

Straight from the horse's mouth. Show losing money out the ass from this ridiculous deal.
There you go straight from the horses mouth.

So to Floyd lovers everywhere tell your boy to man-up and fight legit threats from now or go down with the captain in his sinking ship.

              Too late...

Last time, the guy managed to make a fool out of himself...

Next time he will have to ask his fan boys for donations in order to make a fight.

Espinosa, works for free, because he likes floyd. Golden Boy, is promoting the fight out of the goodness of their heart. Richard, works for free when it comes to floyd because thats his buddy. Roger, trains floyd for free. The cutman, and all of the fighters used in training, all do it for free. So floyd, gets everything done for free. Thats how 800 thousand buys supports 32 million.

pacquiao literally sold the Bradley PPV on his own without any recognisable chief support, Mayweather has had the luxury of Garcia, Matthysse, Khan and Broner over at show time, which is a great strategy, hand it to GBP for putting on good shows but with TR the yare literally just selling Pacquiao on his own and he still does almost a million. That's impressive. And he is arguably the biggest name in the sport.
