I already broke that down numbers wise previously in this thread, go back a few pages.

And it's basic logic. $32 million guarantees and 800K buys don't mix. Several sources, including the head of Showtime Boxing himself say that 1.5 million is the magic number. With the exception of Canelo, Floyd's fights are doing about half that amount.

The guy who first reported the fight did 850K said GBP was busting out the red ink. Basic common sense here people.

Yes you did and by your numbers (which aren't confirmed) you said the fight would be 10-15 million in the red. 700k more buys to make it 1.5 million would generate $49 million. That's way more than breaking even.

          Of course. It's obvious...
(But you can't argue with casual fans who have no clue about business figures).

            please bro.

by now you should know that floyd fans are:

            -online bankers
            -boxing historians
            -ppv experts
            -doctors
            -millionaires (despite having only GEDs)

it's not a guarantee that a floyd-maidana rematch would generate more numbers. if floyd would bi,tch about gloves again it would just upset the fans that could lead to them not buying the fight.

funny how the floyd fanboys viewed that glove controversy as a marketing strategy by floyd though.

It is kind of funny that some Floyd fans have defend the low ppv numbers by saying how much of a mismatch the fight was viewed as.

"It didn't sell well because it wasn't supposed to be a competitive fight."

"Mayweather fought a huge underdog, Pacquiao fought a ppv #3 fighter."

So, some people can defend the fighter or defend the ppv attraction...tough to do both.

Well, I think his point is that you're not taking into consideration the floyd stan point of view. Showtime, is doing all of this work for free, because they like floyd. Espinosa, works for free, because he likes floyd. Golden Boy, is promoting the fight out of the goodness of their heart. Richard, works for free when it comes to floyd because thats his buddy. Roger, trains floyd for free. The cutman, and all of the fighters used in training, all do it for free. So floyd, gets everything done for free. Thats how 800 thousand buys supports 32 million.
