I'm torn on this, on one hand, Schaefer has to be given credit for keeping GB relevant when Oscar was out of the picture and recovering from his addiction.

On the other hand, we don't know what Schaefer has been doing behind closed doors and what control he's taken of the company Oscar built.

We just don't know, but I hope Oscar is ready for this because Schaefer is a business man and knows what to do. Oscar has been out of the game and has a serious problem with drugs and alcohol. I hope he's over that, and strong enough to what is ahead.

Didn't Mayweather say if Schaefer leaves GB, that he's going with him and leaving Oscar?

Arum: "Sure Oscar, I will always do business *grinning*"

Oscar: "OK Bob, lets just say I might be getting rid of Richard, he is getting too cozy and letting outside interests gain control of the fighters I own. But I want to keep it all under the radar for now. Keep it all hush hush for now ok?

Arum: "Sure Oscar, all is good here"

Arum reaches out to the press shortly afterward: "Oscar's thieving CEO is looting the company!"

      LOL

So now Floyd and Haymon are a commission? They are here to save the sport? LOL

Both sides to this argument are pathetic. All this sport has consisted of from Day 1 is a bunch of dudes who try to skim money. There are no heros in this sport. NONE!

This sport is built around Dreams at the lower level, and those who are there to exploit those dreams at the higher level for their own benefit. Nothing more and nothing less.

Arum and Shaefer are like the same person, only difference is Arum has been in the game a bit longer.

Look, I could care less about who's ****ing who, I just want the biggest, baddest fights to get made and that means TR/HBO have to work with GBP/Show and vice versa. If Arum and Oscar are coming to some agreement and if that means that Schaefer gets kicked to the curb so be it.

I want Thurman v Provodnikov, Bradley v Porter, Stevenson v Kovalev, Donaire and so on

Schaefer is too far in with Haymon. He has pretty much enabled Haymon to use GBP as a front while he runs his "adviser" scheme allowing him to play promoter and manager.

                  Oscar you ****** MF

You all complaining about GBP in-house fights, TR is doing it too.

Im not even sure that's really been that big of a problem outside of a few fights. We've seen both promotions throw great in-house cards.

If this gets legal, you can bet your ass there will be even less fights.

good post...gbp would've been in ruins because of oscar's drug addiction if not for schaefer. at the same time schaefer may have took advantage of what happened to dela hoya and put his personal interest over that of gbp's.

oscar may not be that smart but he's a promoter who promoted his own fights. he knows what potential money a ppv card could bring to his company depending on the ppv numbers. i guess he's not happy with his company's financial gains in connection to the success of the ppvs they promoted.
