I never understood these kinda questions. These dudes are multiple weight classes apart, Floyd's punches most likely won't hurt Ward. Floyd would be ~150 on fight night and Ward would be ~175.

Ward would win, of course. In case you didn't know Ward is a big supper middleweight and Mayweather is a small welterweight so Ward is at least 25 pounds bigger than Mayweather. If they were the same size then Mayweather wins easily.

Even if they were the same size Ward would give him loads of problems.

What about Wards fight with Sakio Bika did that "expose" him?

That's Ward in his prime against a worse fighter than Maidana.

How about all the other areas outside of inside game Mayweather is better in I.e every area?

I'm inclined to think this, but I'm probably wrong. It would be a very hard fight either way that Mayweather should be favored in.

Maybe I'm the only Ward fan bothered by the fact that he hasn't faced anyone who knows how to throw compact punches in close, that's a bit alarming to me.

Ward would still trouble him of course, his awareness in there is almost animalistic, very stiff jab, knows how to neutralize his opponents in close and knows how to close the gap intelligently with very good foot speed. Ward doesn't lead with right hands much and he doesn't arch his punches in such an unconventional way that would keep Mayweather too occupied defensively. I'd still favor Mayweather right now.

If it's in Oakland, Ward would stop Floyd by deliberate head butt and win a TD.

In Las Vegas, Floyd would be protected by his home ref and after several warnings, Ward would be disqualified for his repeated fouling.

Ward would always be able to close the distance so those areas are irrelevant, it would be an inside fight unless Floyd had a ref helping him out.

Ward v Bika is two offensive inside fighters going at it, that isn't Mayweather, Ward versus a Maidana or Porter for example is a different thread.

                      Ward's hardly an "Offensive" fighter.
