Comments Thread For: Williams Details His Fallout With Klitschko, Parker Bout

Sherman Williams wants to set the record straight.

Accused of bailing on last month's fight with Kiwi heavyweight Joseph Parker in Germany, Williams says he took a moral stance after a dispute with Wladimir Klitschko and the world champion's K2 promotions company.

Williams says on the second day of sparring Klitschko's trainer, Jonathan Banks, stepped into the ring and attempted to referee their contest.

Even if what he says about the sparring is true, he was there to help Wlad, and was probably paid for it. He should have sparred the way they wanted him to spar.

This is what happens to anyone who shows attitude to his boss.

If they called for a break and you still threw punches after that, that's probably why they got mad.

This conversation took place on another forum I read where Wlad's camp chef hangs out:

        -Yelling and degrading hotel staff
-Late for training sessions and sparring (35 minutes late)
        -disrespectful to team klitschko
-Crap sparring total of 4 rounds (low blows over and over)
-contant *****ing about his room and bed (same that everyone else got)
-when asked to "lace up" to be ready to spar... was told.. "Ill do it when I'm ready to do it"
-gym was available at 4pm everyday (when no sparring) for guys to workout... williams would ***** and yell that "NO. I work out at 2pm not 4 so the gym better be open!"

he acted like it was HIS training camp

it was clear, he never really wanted to be there...

The hotel in Austria is in the Alps, surrounded by little town and lots of farms, about 4-5 little family farms up the road from the hotel.... at the time we were there, the farmers were ready to spread fertilizer (cow **** and water mixed) on the fields, a normal farm practice........

Sherman actually sat me down and said ........

"Chef, I'm disappointed in your lack of skill as camp manager that you would allow the local farms to fertilize there farms when sparring partners are here. You should demand they stop for the 3 weeks we are sparring because it is bad for the sparring partners health and shows you have NO RESPECT for the sparring partners that are here"

The smell was gone 6 hours after it was fertilized..... yet according to sherman "team klitschko was mean and disrespectful to him"...LMFAO

        WTF?!??!!!!????

Don't know what happened but most of Wlad's sparring partners say he's a stand up guy.

Was Wlad paying Williams for sparring him? Not sure about that. If he was, then yeah, he's "the boss" and Williams, if he won't follow instructions, is obviously going to get himself fired.
He's helped Wlad prepare for previous fights, and it seems to have worked out ok. Looks like there was a conflict of interests this time though.
It could be that, due to Williams needing to prepare himself to fight Parker on the same bill, he couldn't put Wlad's requirements before his own this time around.

Naahice... He just decided he would keep punching when he was told to stop punching. Maybe sucker punch Wlad in the hotel corridor for good measure? Ridiculous.

If you want to continue getting paid, you have to suck it up and know who your bosses are. Simple as that. It would be different if he had actual leverage, but he don't so that's how it goes.

Williams clearly doesn't know exactly who works for who.

What is this sissy-sparring about? In sparring fighters need to work and give it all but Team Klitschko wanted sissy-sparring and Williams dont do no sissy-sparring. Klitschko should invite Kevin Johnson for the next camp, im sure he would do sissy-sparring all day.

I feel Sherman is at fault here, if you can get on google there are first person accounts (videos) from other fighters who have said he had discipline problems.

I remember speaking to a friend of mine who had met Robert Helenius, and I remember him telling me he was working over in Finland and decided to go the fight. He gave me the impression that Williams has a considerably bad attitude and was causing all sorts of problem before their press conference.
