I agree with GGG's manager except that Chavez was in the right to reject the extension.

Hou STAAAAHP, Quillin is a "pure boxer" broHe said he displayed his ring IQ against Konecny.... didn't see it.
Just saw him having a tough time trying to take out a guy who landed way more punches than he should have.
He threw some, but the way Konecny fights, gloves up and head down while constantly coming forward, Quillin should've been feeding him uppercuts all nightComment

I see him as just occupying the belt for Canelo too. Sure Canelo might pick up a belt elsewhere, but why complicate things when you can keep it all in-house.I think they've planned on Quillin giving that title up to Alvarez. He'll be moving up soon, and that's Golden Boy's only claim to the middleweight championship. They won't risk that knowing Quillin might lose to a Rosado type, let alone a Golovkin or Geale or someone worthwhile.
Best chance of Quillin fighting Golovkin would be if Cotto beats Martinez and Alvarez can get a MW title from him.Comment

Still no word from @HBOboxing on approving @KIDCHOCOLATE for Golovkin. Any other fight--including Geale right now--is a waste of time.

I actually think that Geale is probably better than Quillin - the only real good reason for a Quillin fight is that he has the strap. Actually, come to think of it Geale vs Quillin would be a decent scrap (as woulda Geale - Macklin) - I actually kinda feel for Quillin, cos none of Haymons 'magic' is gonna turn him into a star with the bulk of the MW talent lying outside of North Amrica.Still no word from @HBOboxing on approving @KIDCHOCOLATE for Golovkin. Any other fight--including Geale right now--is a waste of time.
