No one ever mentions that arum counter offered Floyd 50 million and no ppv and Floyd turned that down. Now it's granted that Floyd could make 50 mil+ on any given night but the whole saying is who turns down 40 million but no one ever says who turns down 50 million towards Floyd
Breaking down the numbers why 40 million only was an absurd offer from floyd

Lmao wait what? So Pacquiao telling his fans that he'd fight for free wasn't a bluff, but Floyd offering him 40 million was?Comment

i agree that the fighters purse would be max 120M even 120M is extremely high. because the highest PPV is like 75 dollars right now right? The point that is being forgotten is that, from all of the revenues generated, before Mayweather even sees a penny of anything, $40 million comes off of the top and goes to Pacquiao.
Even if the fight did generate $120m in fighter revenues, that gets cut $40m, full stop.
Pacquiao: $40m
Mayweather: $75m-$80m
Basically a 65/35 split to Mayweather, but not all that bad for Pacquiao, if folks want to be honest about the numbers that each guy draws.
75*3M=112,5M(50% goes to cable companies)
As a simpleton i do wanna react/comment on thispac and top Rank generate a lot more than 40 million per fight. why would they accept less? makes no sense.
also pac still has to pay top Rank so pac wouldn´t get all 40 million even if top Rank accepted the comical offer.
so what they were looking at is an average payday for pac and much less money for top Rank since they wouldn´t be in the promotion. why would they do that? plus it was an offer over the phone aka nothing legit. it sounds nice but only to simple folk without any nuance or critical thinking. the second you start actually thinking you realice it was another way to duck the fight. zero ppv? gtfo
pac last fight 750/k*75$=(56.250.000/2 cable companies)28,5M max in PPV revenues. out of this Arum gets a piece Bradley,Konz,Roach...
I do agree on the last thing you wrote, that the deal FMJ offered at the time was only intended for PAC not for TR, because FMJ would do all the promoting and take the costs of that event upon himself. So it wouldnt be a good deal for Arum, i agree. But 40M net if contractually possible only for Pac. he hasnt been paid yet that much for one fight i think.
Dana doesnt agree 2:40 minutes in...
Sometimes if you're the B-side you have to take a risk and/or less to become the top dogg and call the shots. If manny was confident he could have won the match and offered FMJ the same amount in the rematch. If i would have the confidence that i could beat FMJ i would take less the first time and be compensated in the rematch
All you pacman fans are confident he could and can beat a diva loke fmj right
I know you love it

Well I'm a Mayweather fan all the way, but on Pacs behalf I think Pac should've asked for 50Million and gave Bob step aside Money if Bob would even accept itComment

if floyd was serious about the fight, he would have offered pac 60-40 split which is more than fair, but he was just trolling, making it seem like he wanted the fight, the fight would certainly be boxing biggest gate and sponsors, also it would smash the 2.5m+ ppv barrier, I still think it will happen, why? because floyd wants the money, but he knows he will probably lose, therefore, he will wait until his last fight imo
floyd was clearly trying to rip manny off, he would have made close to 100m from the fight whilst manny would have made 40m, that is a simply ******Comment

it too risky....manny could have ended up getting ripped because he would have had no idea how many ppvs buys it could do...a serious offer involves ppv split, it is really simply, a 60-40 split would have been fair, that should have been his reply
after costs, split the rev 60-40, pac asking for 50m would have made the split like 70-30 imoComment

Any person with half a brain, in Manny's shoes in that situation, would not take a $40M flat fee for the biggest fight ever. Just plain ******.Comment
