This is a subjective question. It all depends on who you are asking and which fighter is being cheated. For instance, if Robert Garcia had instructed Maidana to rough up one of these posters favorite fighters then the answer would be an overwhelming yes. However, since its a fighter they strongly detest then it's perfectly ok and acceptable.

Personally I would say yes. No fighter or trainer is bigger than the sport itself. One has to look out for these fighter's safety as it's already a dangerous sport as it is. There's no place for those kind of brutish tactics that Marcos Maidana implemented in that bout. Therefore, Garcia should be suspended because of them but he probably won't so much as receive a reprimand by the state of Nevada.

Of course not. The referee wasn't even doing his job well that night. And a lot of it starts and ends there. Garcia's corner advice would've changed immediately if Maidana got a point deducted.

        I agree.

Suspending Garcia would be excessive, but Maidana should have gotten a point deducted after his attempt to throw a knee.

In any sport, you want to push the limits of what you can get away with and the official is the one who decides how that goes. If a guy is strict you need to adjust to that, if a guy is loose then play accordingly or anywhere in between as long as a guy is consistent the participants should be able respond accordingly.

Now getting specifically into boxing, one of the best ways to deal with someone clearly more skilled is to drag them into the mud where those skills don't count for as much, they played to win and they were allowed so I don't see the issue.

Also boxing is one of those sports where if you ain't cheatin you ain't tryin (at least on that sort of level)

Nobody saw the fouls as an issue either until the fanatics started to say that Floyd lost. They never said how, but they said it. Floyd's fans then responded with the fouls and then they were called cry babies. #Reversepsychology

Yea, but I am not worried about people crying they will get over it at some point and if they never understand what I said then they can't be helped so I am not worried about that either.

That is also why I stick to what I think, rather than getting into group thinking.

Garcia figured out Floyd IMO. I guess he saw the elbow cheats and what it does to a fighters rhythm. Not to mention the fact that Floyd throws a 1-2, clinch, spins the opponent then pushes. The elbow is always there when the opponent tries to push Floyd back. The duck pushes back an opponent who won't stand for his rough tactics via an elbow on the throat. So no. It's just fire with fire. Floyd gets away with those elbows and clinching after throwing. He does smooth cheating if there is such a word. Maidana through Garcia showed that he won't have none of that and simply followed garcias push back policy.

It wouldn't have been a big deal. I'm wondering if the roles were reversed how many fans would be crying Floyd is dirty.

Oh that's right, Floyd fights dirty already right...

Not as bad a Maidana doe right? #Hypocrites&babies
Floyd was instructed to fight dirty. In those words exactly. In English.
