I knew the ratings would be good when Teddy Atlas was trending worldwide, I've never seen that happen before unless he's talking about a Floyd or Pac fight after a big event on ESPN.

I'm glad it did well . Espn paid for a good fight and it's nice that it was supported. Hopefully they will continue to get better fights now ..

I think having it on a Saturday evening helped. That's becoming known as the day and time for boxing among casual fans.

ESPN should do this more often. Competitive fights with a world championship on the line are bound to draw curious eyes, as long as they are advertised properly ahead of time.

This is good news and it would give motivation for ESPN to a have a bigger boxing budget. The more the networks compete for viewers the more we win

New Orleans had a 4.1 market share for the fight, it figures as Louisiana has a lot of fight fans. The good ratings for last Saturday will help bring more big fights to ESPN and they won't have to worry about Golden Boy/Top Rank or the HBO/Showtime problems, all positives for the fans.

Saturday night is the worst night for TV. It's called the graveyard slot or the Saturday night death slot. Back in the day Saturday was one of the best nights for TV, but with changing social habbits and network need to target young people (who tend to go out on Saturday) it's become one of the lowest rated days for TV. Boxing promoters have never adapted with the times and still stubbornly air boxing matches in the worst timeslot possible.
