Those numbers came from bobby and that's the only source not to mention how long it took to get them. That fight prolly did 500-600k buys

Those use to be super mega numbers. I remember one time that people thought you had star status if you could do like 450. Now its either a mil or bust.

At the end of the day, I could care less either way. Its not going in my pocket. I just want to see good fights. F the numbers

when you pay a fighter a huge garantee, 850K buys is not enough.

With ppv prices where they are it seems both fighters are not drawing what they used to. 854k and under 700k are not the level both fighters are used to.

IF THESE NUMBERS ARE ACCURATE, 854k paid for floyd/maidana-which is more than paid for Manny/Tim 1. Floyd/Ghost did same or more than Manny/tim 1. I don't think opponent credibility is the complete answer.

Floyd's retains a higher level of purchasers than Manny, as ppv prices have escalated. Maybe its the KO loss. Maybe its because he is an AMerican fighter. Maybe its US fan backlash towards Arum for taking Manny to china. I don't really know.

floyd always did do a little higher than manny so i dont know where ur trying to go with that. but its not like floyd is doing 1mil+ while pac is averaging 500k. if floyd does 1.3mil in his last fight then pac will usually do 1mil even. what i was saying is that manny/bradley 2, everyone already saw what happen in the first fight and most felt pac won so why pay to see it again? and for floyd/maidana, most felt maidana will be a walk in the park for floyd, just look at the odds so why pay for it? this is the reasons why i think their ppv #'s is low as of recent.

850K is not enough for Showtime. I don't care about Showtime's money. Mayweather-Maidana brought 850K to their TVs to watch boxing on Saturday night. The amount of money Floyd was getting paid had no effect on Joe Schmoe picking up his remote and ordering the PPV. 850K bought Mayweather-Maidana, just think about it.

Let me give you a what if...
EPIX comes out and gives Mayweather a $300M guarantee to fight Pacquiao. EPIX accountants determine they need 5M PPV buys to break even. The fight sells 4M PPVs. EPIX loses 50M dollars. So 4M PPV buys is not a success because a network decided to guarantee a fighter a ludicrious amount of money? No, I belive 4M buys would be an astronomic success either way.

I don't look at PPV buys as how much money the networks make. I look at PPV buys strictly as how many people bought the fight. We don't know the final number yet, but it appears 850K bought the fight. That is impressive against Maidana.

Showtime have a budget for boxing. Loss making fights eat into that budget. That means other fights don't get made.
